I'm a regular black tea drinker, and this week I've been drinking some
Earl Gray. I'd never had it before, and to those not familiar with it
it's flavored with essence of bergamot, an asian citrus fruit. My
understanding is that the oils in the skin are used for flavoring the
tea, not the juice, so I wouldn't expect any carbs.
My problem is that I've had a slight bump in weight with no other
changes in diet. Does anyone know whether Earl Gray does in fact have
some carbs? I can't seem to find evidence of this anywhere. Thanks.

According to fitday.com, 8 oz of herbal tea brings 0.47 carbs. Unless you
had a lot, or are putting something sweet in it, I don't think it will have
much impact.

The caffine may be having a negative effect on your diet... it is
one of the things that can cause wieght loss to be difficult.

Unless you're dumping tons of cream in it you should have little to no
calories from tea of any kind.
