I went to the store today to pick up some grocery and decided for sh.ts and
giggles I would check out the $5 loaves of low carb bread that is always
being discussed in here. So i come across this bread that wasn't labeled to
be low carb. It's called Merita Lite D'italiano. The nutrition facts on the
package read as such.

It's some good tasting stuff. Best part is it's only $1.70 a loaf here.

Most "light" or "lite" breads are also low carb. I love some of the store
brands breads, usually low carb and cheap. I will never spend $5 a loaf for
low carb breads. They are too expensive and usually not very good. I hate
the rubbery stuff!

Country Kitchen lite whole wheat is amazingly good and cheap and low carb
(unless you pig out and eat more than you should)

I also like the Lite Breads - but not the thought of paying close to $5 a
loaf for them.
There are Orowheat outlet stores however that sell these very same breads
(and fresh too - usually still a week or more to go before their
expiration date) for around $1.70 a loaf. I usually buy a few loaves and
keep them in the freezer and when I want bread I either just pop it in
the toaster (or in the microwave for 30 seconds wrapped in paper towels
if I don't want it toasted).

I buy Nature's Own low carb bread 5 carbs. It costs 2.19 a loaf. 19
carbs sounds like a lot.

So you're not on a low carb diet?

Most of us probably aren't in danger of eating too little. :)

my shoprite in Jersey had Arnold "Atkins Approved" low carb wheat
bread for $1.14 a loaf. 9g of carb and 3g of fiber for a net of 6g. it
tastes good too.

I buy the Franz Low carb Bread with 4g carbs per slice, for $1.39 at
the bakery outlet in Seattle.
Tastes real good.
I just have to be careful how much I have at one time.
