The rear end accident I was in a couple weeks ago, its caused problems
with my jaw, left side. Ear and jaw pain, ringing in the ears,
swelling. Going to a TMJ specialist next week. Cannot chew foods right
now, too much to handle.
Any ideas on easily to swallow and chew foods?
Was thinking of blending some foods, like berries, yogurt, ice,
splenda. Then maybe something with vegetables in it? Meat, not right
now, its too hard to chew. Unless others have ideas? It would be
appreciated..
Tempted to have pudding, but not going to. I could handle the jello.
But then also need to keep up at 20-25 carbs a day. Finding it hard to
do.

Heavy cream. Whip, add berries.
Peanut butter (protein)
Guacamole (avocado)
Scrambled eggs (protein)

Fish should be easy, it's very soft. Soups? Blend your veggies in a creamy
cheesy sauce. Ground turkey or beef scrambled up as you cook it. I used to
do "scrambled hamburger", hamburger stirred as you cook it with shredded
potatoes added and a gravy made with beef broth. You could do this with
cauliflower and thicken it with Not Starch or guar gum or just blend up some
of the cauliflower, use chicken broth if using turkey.

There are many soups that start out with whole vegetables
that are blended prior to serving that are quite delicious.
Seems to me that most any of the recipes floating around
that have a cauliflower or broccoli base would lend
themselves to this.
Possibly one of the flaxseed meal breakfast cereal blends
posted on various websites would be doable for you.

I take 1/2 cup of flax meal, 1 tsp. vanilla and 1 tsp. Splenda (or, you can
use a couple chugs of DaVinci's vanilla sugar free syrup). Boil a cup of
water, and add it to the flax mixture until you reach the desired
thickness. That stuff is VERY absorbent! Then, I pour some heavy cream
over it. Simple, and yummy!

Soups and broths. Chicken broth with veggies (cooked until tender or mashed
or pureed into the soup) Ditto for beef broth. Scrambled Eggs might be
do-able.

Why not try custard? It is made with egg, milk or cream, and you can use
sweetner instead of sugar.
Also, how about cream soups like broccoli cheese soup.

meat grinders and blenders are your friends. Some baby food is pretty
low carb, also. I see it as no problem.

Scrambled eggs - in fact, eggs of any kind. I make a ham-spread that
you could eat w/o chewing. Use your favorite non-sugar-cured ham, grind
it in a food processor, add a few spices (I use Penzey's curry powder)
and some mayo.
Definitely yogurt - full-fat for low-carb.
You could do creamed spinach - very easy to swallow. If you do your
"mashed" cauliflower in the food processor, you're good to go there as
well. Sugar-free jello, while not nutritive, can be comforting.
Finally, what about broth with eggs in it - egg-drop soup?
Feel better soon!

If someone gets tired of yoghurt (sharp, acid) but wants similar
nourishment, might try the 'yoghurt cream' layer on top of 'whole milk'
plain yoghurts such as Brown Cow and Stonefield Farms.
It's less sharp than regular yog, or sour cream, or cream cheese.
Wonderful mild flavor!

Make some ice cream using splenda and alcohol.

I'd say this is a good time for the Atkins (or whatever brand you like) shakes.

Eggnog? Have the blender whipping the eggs and pour in scalded milk
(carefully) to cook them.
I used instant decaf coffee for flavor so as not to get tired of a sweet
flavor.

Thanks guys and gals. You all gave me wonderful ideas. I also went and
searched a low carb recipe site. Found some wonderful soft food
recipes. Printed out the ideas you all gave, along with the recipes I
found.
I have limited myself to meat, eggs, cheese, vegetables, berries,
yogurt.. pretty much all along the way so far. So some new things like
this will be good.
Thank you!
