Hey folks,
I've been on the Atkins diet since last July.  I lost approx. 30 pounds
and plateaued (is that a word?).
I fell off the wagon between Thanksgiving and New Years.  Then I
underwent the two week induction phase again and got back on Atkins.
Three weeks ago I had my blood work done as a lark and was in formed
that my cholesterol rose from 219 to 254.
What did I do wrong?  I feel great.  My clothes fit better.
I DON'T WANT TO QUIT THIS GREAT DIET.  MY STOMACH ACID PROBLEM HAS
DISAPPEARED.  MY SINUES HAVE CLEARED UP.  AND MY STOOL IS HARD AND PERFECT.
Is it because I have eggs for breakfast everyday?
   Please tell me.
   Thanks.

It's because you have an inoperable tumor and you're going to die soon. HTH

yourself hun?

I just hope JC you never have to be in the situation where you have a tumour
and don't know if it is operable or not, to be in the situation where you
may never see your children grow up, because then you would know exactly
what blow you just struck someone who has been in that situation.  Thick
skinned I may be most of the time, and probably answering you may be the
stupidest thing I have done today but despite what you have said I really do
hope you never have to go through it.

Just had to get that out of my system, feel free to ignore it people.  I am
not answering this thread anymore.

Eddie if you read this, I'm sorry I don't have an answer for you but good
luck on finding the answer and on your low carb journey.

If it bothers you, then have the doc prescribe a statin drug.  I
attribute the rise to your xmas indulgences.

Total cholesterol is only part of the story. Can you provide your TG and
HDL levels too? Did your TC/HDL ratio changed?

Ask for a breakdown of that total. Your good cholesterol might have gone up,
and the bad dropped or stayed the same (either way it's a good thing). Also
find out what your triglycerides are. If your doc has no idea what you're on
about, find another doctor who actually knows his arse from his elbow  :o)

cheers
