There's not much difference other than some minor UI changes (checkboxes instead
of text links, a new pulldown menu, formatting, etc). It's functionally almost the
same, and just I love the added help text: "Help with Fractions" <LOL>

I find it to be much more user-friendly.

I believe you. It has a slightly cleaner, less cluttered look.

Do people really need this type of help? I'd think, by the time
you're old enough to manage your own diet, you should know a few of
the basic fraction->decimal conversions by rote.
OTOH I added basic fraction support to my nutritional labels. Go here
and type in "1/2" in the "change amount" spot for an example:
http://www.delorie.com/health/ns/label.cgi?fid=11167&grams=154&unit=cup&amount=1
(except that it does convert and print the decimal value).
I added fraction support to the parametric search too, so you can
search for all foods that are "1/3" fat or more.

I'm hoping the "Help with Fractions" link is meant for kids. It's scary to
think otherwise.

Part of the "dumbing down" of America.
