> You haven't posted in a while. Is all okay?
Depends on your definition of 'ok'. Not dying or nuthin, but I've been
syphoning off Damsel's bad luck this whole month and needed some down time
the last couple of days. :)
Things that happened to me this month, in no particular order:
1. youngest had prom dress crisis-- this involved many pins and a minor
blood offering
2. youngest had graduation crisis-- this required many offerings of gold
3. youngest had transportation issues that threatened her graduation (from
attendence policy). and school is in the opposite direction from work (you
will see how this becomes important later).
4. grandson gave me the flu
5. lebaron broke.
6. transport broke
7. youngest's 18th birthday and mother's day (oldest's first and nobody to
dote on her but us) within a week of each other and neither happy for
various reasons. To tell the truth, I wasn't happy about it either. They
was babies just last month. I'm sure of it.
8. oldest's kia is *still* in the shop-- birthfather's stepdad (who owns a
bodyshop) claims the help walked out on him but he'll have it ready real
soon now (we've been hearing that for a month now) and she has to have
*something* to get to the pediatrician with, so she's got the only one
left -- my kia which I went further into debt for jsut this month so her's
would finally get fixed (she's had it for a year now waiting on paternal
stepgrandfather to get his butt in gear). DH and I live in the country, 15
miles from work, or any semblance of civilization. I spend a lot of time
hanging at her appartment because it's inbetween my work and his, because
she's our ride.
9 Dog got out of the fenced in yard at least 3 times this month because
certain persons who will remain anonymous can't be bothered to pay attention
to whether the door or the gate is closed. Dog is a heat stroke suvivor
that needs to be spayed because if she has pups it will kill her-- the heat
stroke damaged her kidneys. Will get around to that real soon now.
10. Houseguest (who has his own place now- haleluiah) tried to help fix
lebaron by buying (with the money he was supposed to use to get another head
& gasket set) another one exactly like it for parts (no title), and then
hurt himself trying to rebuild the engine. Now I've got two gold lebarons
broken down in my drive -- it's like double vision.
11. the lawn is waist high in spots now. every time I get five minutes to
even begin thinking about mowing-- it rains.
12 Oh, yeah, and I tried to install my new harddrive. I spent three days
fighting it --apparently I needed to jump thru a ring of fire and offer up
the cat for a blood sacrifice to get the system to even see the damn thing,
and promptly went and crashed the other drives so bad that I lost
everything. I'm just now getting the basics back online.
13 and my year and a half old dtv reciever died and they made me buy another
one and contract for another year. I guess warrantys only last for as long
as it takes to get you out of the store.
14. the tires on the mower are flat-- again. (at least we can get the thing
to start finally, been working on *that* problem for 8 weeks now-- don't
ask, DH is *stubborn*).
15. borrowed FIL's mower (hoping to mow the lawn this afternoon since it
stopped raining for a few hours), promptly messed it up on a busted shovel
hidden in the grass (thankyou houseguest),
16. and while trying to fix it DH tore his right bicep and I had to take him
to the hospital this afternoon. They don't know yet if the muscle will have
to be surgically reattatched, but at least the tendon didn't break off a bit
of bone when it snapped. This was right after DH joked that this has been a
really shitty month for us but at least it's over. Hah. We still have one
more day left. I wonder if we can get the house burnt down around our ears
in before midnight tomorrow?
Ahem. Just you're normal basic soap opera that I star in every day. So um,
how's tengs wid youse?

Oh no, your list would take a normal basic soap opera at least 5 episodes to
sort through it.
Wish your youngest will look her finest in her "cape" on graduation day...

Unfortunately it does just kind of all piles on at times,
doesn't it? Glad to hear that you are healthy, which is
basically what I am asking about when I ask if all is okay.
Of course, health comes in both physical and emotional
flavors as well, and things that impact the latter can tend
to come in droves at times.
My house is well, thank you for asking. We do have many of
the same types of trials and tribulations; our own versions
of them of course. My oldest is getting married at the end
of the year and (hopefully) graduating college reasonably
closely thereafter. I'm sure we will then have blood
offerings of our own sort...around here I refer to them as
bleedings (figuratively.) I do identify with your "They was
babies just last month. I'm sure of it."
I always play the "it's cheaper to keep a customer than to
find a new one" game with service providers such as
satellite TV. If one doesn't give you what you want,
threaten to go to the other one...generally there are enough
offerings that a move won't cost you anything, other than
the service contract you would sign anyway. I've yet to
actually change providers for any service, and have spent
little (read no) money on equipment.
Of course, we did have a lightning strike that spiked the
power in the house recently: The cheap DirecTV receiver
connected to the surge protector is still working perfectly,
the very expensive amp/receiver that was connected to
it....toast. Theoretically there is replacement protection
from the provider on the surge protector, but I'm not going
to hold my breath as there enough clauses and sub-clauses
listing exclusions as to make such things virtually
useless...and even if they are not, the equipment shipping
costs and other handling fees easily add up to more than the
cost of a replacement unit.

Sorry to hear about DH and his injury; not good.
You could write a short story on the lawn mower and grass
trials...
Have a great Memorial Day. And please, hide the matches.

LOL Made ya skeered to ask next time, didn't I? I wasn't complaining.
Really. It really is like this around my house all the damn time. I've
learned to surf the stress waves for sport. I just thought it was a funny

DH was desperate for his "opium". He didn't consult with me first. <shrug>

Thank you for the sweet sentiment. Actually this is nothing. Now the year
we spent getting calls from the prosecuting office, social services, and the
therapists the day before every stinking holiday reminding us of our
situation re our girls molestations-- now *that* sucked.

gin, rum, bourbon, etc generally)
Malt can be made low carb through the judicious use of yeast.

His fingers were swollen this morning, but he can still move them, and so
long as he gets his darvocet he seems happy. Sure, he does. The lazy bum.
I'd be happy too if I could laze around doing nothing and be waited on hand
