I'm afraid I have to add an extra 2pts to yesterdays' journal, taking me
over target by 2.5pts (a mini chocolate bar and a small amount of low fat
cheese).  Ah well....

Here's today's so far:

B:
Weetbix, et al 4.5pts

L:
Bean and veg soup et al 5.5pts

S:
Chocolate croissant (this is where the day started falling apart) 3pts???
Mandarin 0.5
Apple 1
Cookie 0.5
After work drinkies and nibbles 10???  (there were a few glasses of red,
some cheese, some low fat crackers and dip).

D:
Just finished a WW frozen dinner which was not too bad but incredibly salty
3.5

Total thus far 28.5

I did go for my walk this morning (2pts).  I still want something sweet for
afters, so I'm probably going to end the day on about 30 (10 over target).
I'm seeing that there's some catching up to be done over the next few days.
Good thing I'm posting this to keep me honest!

Here's mine for today:

B: egg substitute (1) + ww hamb roll (1)

L: 3oz chicken breast (3) + miracle whip (1) + ww hamb roll (1) + baby
carrots (0) + cottege cheese double (3)

D: 5.5 oz lean steak (7) + carrots/snowpeas (0) + small sherbet (4) + small
apple (1)

Total 24

Lots of water
No exercise today - I worked late today

WI is tomorrow but I am not anticipated any loss. Probably a gain unless
something magical happens overnight. Despite being on or below points all
week the scale is still up 1 point from last saturday. TOM is around the
corner so I am assuming that is the cause of the lack of scale movement. If
I am lucky the difference between the home and WW scale is enough to show
even a slight loss. Very frustrating week.

Next week shall be a real challenge. We head to mom's on Wednesday. Thursday
we drive to Maine to pick her up and bring her down to her house on Friday
morning. So Wednesday to Friday are going to be really hectic. And due to
the change in location, I will not have a WI until 6/29. I will put my
visits to Curves on hold for the summer but I have renewed my membership to
the water aerobics classes 3x a week (45min). I did this last summer and
loved it.

I feel like I did ok today, although dinner may have caused more problems than I'm
giving it credit for.  Oldest daughter took us out to dinner for father's day,
chose the golf course a few short blocks from the house.  They have a very limited
menu ... sandwiches, burgers and fish fry - that's it.  Obviously limited choices,
none of which is great - dinner points had to be guestimated as I have no clue
whatsoever.  The pieces of fish were very small (also very good).

B:  3.5 points
whole wheat english muffin (2 pts)
1.5 cup cantaloupe/honeydew/pineapple (1.5 pt)
coffee

L:  2.5 points
1.5 cup summer salad soup - killed it off finally (1 pt)
scallops (1.5 pts)
1 cup veggies (0 pt)

D:  20 points (total guesswork)
fried fish fingers (10 pts)
salad w/ ff raspberry vinaigrette dressing (1 pt)
10 small french fries - maybe (4 pts)
a few small onion rings (4 pts)
1/2 cup cola (1 pt)

That's it - no snacks at all today, not hungry, too busy

total points used:  26
target: 18-23
activity points earned: 3

If I guessed right, then I did ok ... if not, it will more than likely work out as
the rest of the day was virtually nothing.  I do expect the scale to be up
tomorrow regardless.  Past history of dining at this place appears to show mega
water retention, probably high sodium foods.

Official scale results today had me up an ounce or two at 132.7 (late night
popcorn???).  This is still a 2 pound loss from last Friday, 3.6 pounds since we
have started posting our journals here (and where I had been hovering consistently
for a few days).  All in all, I am happy and feeling positive.

I did not journal yesterday, but back on my horse today, showed a good loss
this past week thanks to the big J.

I'd contemplated not journaling yesterday, wasn't in the mood, have some *junk*
taking up most of the brainpower.  I sat here for I don't know how long, trying to
remember what I had for lunch.  I remembered the soup, couldn't remember the rest.
It finally came to me, so I figured what the heck, might as well stay honest with
myself.  I probably should go back and add a point (but I'm not gonna) - had a
handful of grapes sometime during the wee hours.  And of course, just the scale
working the way it normally does, todays weight was further down than yesterday
... barely into the 131's, but there nonetheless.  I haven't seen 131 since the
end of May.  It's nice to see it again. <g>

Oh yeah it does work.  Then I go and start eating stupidly again and that 131 is
once again history. <sigh>

There must have been something in the air yesterday, I didn't journal
either... The good news is I didn't have the pizza I was fully intending to
eat. I stopped in front of Pizza hut and then left again. Wow.

Great job on losing 2 pounds this week. See, journaling helps.

Thanks Laura!  Yup, the journaling obviously does help me.  Guess I shouldn't
really have put that theory to the test, even if it was done subconciously. <g>
Down further today (which did surprise me) - probably due more to not having any
late night/early morning snacks sitting in my system.  And know what?  Down is
down - doesn't much matter how or why. LOL

On my way to the treadmill, then breakfast, then errands.  Am going to finally try
to get mom's bank accounts changed to an easier bank for me to access.

It certainly does seem to be working for those of you that had not been
journaling on a regular basis. For us that have been it does not seem to be
helping much.

Good luck with the bank. We're with Fleet and I can pay my bills on line
plus there are tons of branches around. Now that they have been bought out
by Bank of America there'll be more branches to chose from.

Kind of like the flex plan system?  Those trying to lose, it seems to work ...
those trying to maintain, it's like a jigsaw puzzle. <g>  With TOM due to arrive,
I'm wondering if you do have a larger loss in there somewhere - just temporarily
hidden.  And I swear, humidity plays havok also.  I also read something the other
day that I thought was interesting, just can't remember if it was in a newspaper
health column or possibly the current WW magazine.  Anyway, it was relating to
exercise facilities that are circuit training, and how they work as far as
weightloss.  The way I interpreted the *professionals* answer, was that they do
work wonderfully in aiding weightloss - for the first 6 weeks or so.  It said that
after 6 weeks, the body will become used to the same format, same length of time,
same muscles worked - and will actually start conserving energy expenditure, yet
will still aid in firming and trimming size but may not show results on the scale.
It goes further to say that after those initial 6 weeks, you should change your
format, length of time, endurance, etc.  The reason I found it interesting was
because I have read similar elsewhere, relating to walking/jogging workouts and do
wonder if there is something to it.  Could that also be why I have been losing
weight this week?  Time off from exercise, so back to the routine is shaking the
system up along with stricter journaling?  It is something to ponder on.

UGH!  I hate BOA, had nothing but problems with them years ago when they held our
mortgage - but that was really the only dealings I had with them, no other
financial accounts held there.  They would send me notices that our payment was
late, charge us the late fees.  I would have to call and fight with them on a
monthly basis when I finally received my checking statement and cancelled checks
... asking why my cash actually cleared MY bank BEFORE the payment due date, yet
THEY considered it late.  It was frustrating and the main reason we finally
decided to just pay the damn thing off and be done with them.  But that was years
ago, I'm sure as large as they are they and their service have become much better.

Mom is currently at CharterOne - not bad but their online system is horrible.
When I pay her bills via online, they show in the account that the payment has
immediately been made - no way to see if the payment has actually been received by
the recipient.  More than once I have found out that they made the checks out
wrong, thus making the payments late ... yet I had no clue as it appears in the
online statement as a cleared transaction.  My household and business accounts are
at US Bank, wonderful online system that I have yet to have a problem with.  No
Fleet banks in my area, maybe a regional thing?

My system is so wacky lately that anything is possible. I was really on a
roll in May when I started messing with my breakfasts. I was losing 2 pounds
a week. For the month of June, I'll be lucky if I lose 2 pounds in the whole
month. I just can't explain it.

That is an interesting tidbit you found. I have never looked to Curves to
helping me lose weight. I really want it for the toning/shaping that I badly
need. For that I am glad that I joined last fall. This summer I will be
doing water aerobics and walking again like last summer. Maybe the change in
exercise and life in general will help with my weightloss efforts.

Fleet shows you when they posted the check and mark it as pending until it
actually clears which is nice. With all of the banks that FLeet bought here
in NJ and MA, it could be a regional thing. Now that BOA bought them they
have only gotten bigger. It has worked out great for us as we have the same
bank/atm machines here in NJ, MA and FL. No ATM fees.

Well, after waiting for an hour at US Bank, and having the ONE banker there who
didn't get through one person needing help (I was third in line) I walked out,
drove a block away and opened up her accounts at Bank One.  We'll see how I like
it as I've never dealt with them before.  That would be my one complaint with US
Bank ... lack of service.  We have 4 branch offices within a mile of each other -
all are understaffed so you receive no service at all.  I hate to say how many
times I've stopped in to see a banker and have them *out to lunch* ... regardless
as to what time I arrive.

I didn't journal yesterday, my travel day. I ate my usual breakfast, ate an
apple for a late morning snack, and then for lunch/dinner, ate the take-home
from my previous night's dinner out. At the airport, I ate a box of popcorn
(after cruising the Philly Cheesesteak stand and other eateries). I
remembered my decision to eat a late and points-heavy lunch, and then
thought about whether it was hunger I wanted to feed or something else. KNEW
it was something else, so I fed it popcorn. It was disappointed, but
satisfied. Used more than 20 points yesterday, but not as many as I was
contemplating.

Traveling days are always hard for me too. I never know what I am going to
encounter at the airports. I usually can find a BK but if we are pressed for
time I end up getting a sandwich instead of a salad. When we drive I try and
pack lunch or at least a bunch of point friendly snacks as DD and DH like to
travel with a bag of chips.
