Maybe, just maybe, you're mom has learned something ... such as keeping that ol'
mouth shut? hehehe As far as the ww scales, believe it or not, those old dr.
type scales are probably more expensive than the fancy digital type. I know the
one I have cost well over $100. They are usually much more accurate too, provided
they keep them calibrated.
How do you fix your tilipia? The points are higher than I would expect to see,
but I'm so used to eating fish just broiled or grilled with a dash of lemon juice.
I believe when I have tilipia it usually runs about 3 oz cooked for 2 points (or
so). It is definitely one of the more point friendly fishes available (less
fatty).
Glad to hear you're settling in at mom's. And I hope things continue as well as
they have begun!

Mom keep her mouth shut? never <g> I think she's just plain clueless on most
things these days. Too many signs of dementia and possible alzheimers.
The only problem I have with the doctor scales is they tend to weigh you to
the nearest pound or half pound. The digital ones at WW are to the nearest
.2. I'll take any ounces I can get these days. <g>

I added some lemon-butter marinade on top before I baked it. I used about 4
points worth (4T) for the 3/4 pound that I cooked. So my 8 points for 7oz
might have been too high. That will make up for the extra rice cakes I ate
before bed. Probably ate more than my reserved 3 points. I really like
tilipia and we'll probably have it more often. I also like salmon but it is
a bit higher in points. Mom likes white fish so this is good substitute for
the cod and flounder that she usually has.

I'm slowly unpacking my stuff. I finally started unpack my brief case last
night. Now I can start catching up on my work for the office.

LOL! Dementia, alzheimers, whatever. It has taken me a year with my mom in the
same boat, to finally realize that it doesn't really matter what tag you give it -
it's the same thing ... and it isn't pretty, kind, fun. Lately I've been wishing
to have the old mean mom back. The fiesty one who said all the nasty things to
me. I could deal with her. It hurt, but at least I was used to it. Now I have
this incredibly sickly sweet mom and I don't know how to handle it. It just isn't
*mom* and after 47 years of life with her, I feel like I no longer know her.
<sigh>

Eh, you kind of guess. My doctor type scale measures to the nearest quarter of a
pound, I would assume the ww scale would do the same. Rounding up or down a
little will keep things within an ounce of the digital scales. And no matter
where I move that scale, or how/where I stand on it - it always will give me the
exact same reading. In my mind, that kind of balances out the idiosyncrasies of
the digital readings.

mmmmmmm, that sounds wonderful! You may have still estimated a bit high on the
fish, but like you I'd much rather error on the side of caution. I have a
tendency to do that still. I'd rather falsely end up the day showing I was over
points, than *think* I had extra left when I really hadn't. I tend to be much
more careful late in the day when I know things are tight. <g> Salmon is higher
in points, but I tend to justify it because of the good fats involved. It is
something that is planned ahead though, snacks and lunches usually are much
lighter when I know it is on the menu.

Digging in for the long haul, eh? While working from home can be more enjoyable
than the office pressures, I certainly do not envy your situation. I know (and
Lesanne knows even better) how difficult it is to care for a dementia patient
trying to still live independently. Hang in there and remember to take some time
for yourself when you can.
