I made a great summer treat that is low point I thought I'd share.  Some of
you (maybe all of you) may already do this but just in case you don't...  I
made a cocoa milkshake.  The way I made it I used 4 points but I assume you
could make it lower point if you used skim milk.  You take 1 cup milk (I
used 2%--3 points--I used the calculator to figure this using the nutrition
info), 1 packet sugar-free dry hot cocoa mix (I used swiss miss--1 point)
and 1 1/2 to 2 cups ice.  Blend in a blender.  Start with 1 1/2 cups ice, if
it's too thin add more ice.  You can also use this recipe only substitute
the hot cocoa mix with berries to make a berry shake.  It's a great low
point milkshake!!!

The recipe actually calls for 2 packets hot cocoa mix to make two servings
so you could use less milk and less ice to make 1 serving or use an extra
packet and a little more ice to make 2 servings.  I used 1 cup milk to give
me more treat and I had the points to do that!!  I hope this makes sense--if
not let me know, I'll clarify!!!

Apologies for the capitalisation & typos but my newsreader went haywire :(

sometimes a little something sweet is better than denying yourself and going
off points altogether, Lee

Personally, I like sweets and work them into my menus daily.  This morning I
had a light yogurt (nonfat and aspartame sweetened) and a breakfast brownie
for breakfast.  Three points for breakfast, and I feel like I've started the
day with a nice treat.  Would have added a peach and a point and started the
day with a dairy serving and a FV serving taken care of, but the peaches
were still hard.

Most nights I have a cup of skim milk and a cookie or two (or 15 of TJ's
low-fat cat cookies).  The other night I had a 100-calorie pack of Chips
Ahoy with my milk.  I could have had the 100-calorie pack of Cheese nips,
but the cookies went better with my dairy and were the same number of
points.

I don't take offense, however, if I don't have a little bit of a sweet treat
everyday (or most days) I feel like I'm on a diet and then I binge and end
up where I was.  Skinny people eat sweets quite often, why should I have to
give them up totally just because I'm trying to lose weight.  If I can have
my sweet treats in moderation and still lose weight then I win in the end.
I don't consider having sweets a waste of points and as a matter of fact I
save my points so that I can have those little treats.

If you have been able to give up the sweets and not miss them that is great,
unfortunately for me it's not that easy.

I lost 94 pounds and have chocolate every day. Without a daily sweet treat I
would not have made it this far.

I agree with Nathalie, this program is for life.  I could not even think of
never having sweets again.  The point of this is how to have the foods we
want and still eat healty.  Sweets are not unhealthy, unless that is all you
are eating.
