Hi you guys,

I am new to weight watchers and was wondering if it really works for
you.  I am finding difficult to kinda work out  the right points for
things, but I suppose it'll get easier and easier..

Can anybody  make me a sample of a normal day diet to up to 20 points,
to help me out?

thanks so much in advance.. and lots of luck to you too!!

regards,

Kaferu

Are you doing program by going to meetings? I found that the Getting
starting book had enough points info for me to understand the program in a
couple of days. It does take planning your meals. If you are not going to
meetings then check eBay for materials to buy or find a friend that has them
for you to borrow. The food guides take a lot of guess work away for you.

I can't give you a sample diet for 20 points as im over that a bit, but, I
will say it works. I've lost 44 pounds so far.

It sure did work for me, dropped off 95 or so pounds.  My old way of eating did
nothing but add pounds to my frame, and funny thing now is that reverting to my
old ways also adds pounds.  Returning to the ww guidelines manages to make them
disappear again.  The program does work, if you work it.  It doesn't happen by
itself, it isn't magic.  That said, here's a listing of what I've eaten the past
few days - all should be in the 20 point ballpark.

Breakfast :  carb lovers english muffin w/ff promise (1); 1 cup cantaloupe (1)
Lunch:  2 oz chicken breast (2) on light whole wheat bread (1) with mustard,
tomato and lettuce (0) and 2 sliced kraft ff cheddar cheese (1); 1 oz ff pringles
(1), 2 dill pickle spears (0)
Dinner:  5 oz skinless chicken breast (4.5); whole wheat couscous mixed with
caribbean fruit salsa (4.5); salad (0) with light 1000 island dressing (1)
Snacks:  snack size pop-secret ff popcorn (1); 1 cup grapes; 1 pear (1)
Activity points earrned: 3
Total: 19 total points/4 core points

B:  1/4 cup eggbeaters scambled with diced onions/mushrooms/zucchini (1) and a few
T salsa (0), 2 slices light whole wheat toast w ff promise (1), 1 cup mixed
berries (0)
L:  3 oz cooked chicken breast (2.5); 1/3 c marinara sauce (1); 1 cup brussel
sprouts (0); salad/ff italian dressing (0)
D: large baked potato (3); 1 ear corn on the cob (1); 5 oz filet mignon (7); salad
w/ light blue cheese dressing (1)
S: carb lovers english muffin (1); 1/2 cup grapes (.5)
Activity points earned:  3
Total: 19 points/3 core points

B:  3 ff pancakes (3) topped with 1 cup mixed berries (1)
L:  2.5 oz skinless chicken breast (2.5) w/ 1/3 c marinara sauce (1); 1 cup
asparagus (0); sliced pear (1)
D: {cleaning out the leftovers} Chicken breast with 2% mozz cheese and marinara
sauce (5.5); green beans (0); steamed red potatoes tossed with parsley and lemon
juice (2); salad with 1/4 oz crumbled blue cheese and light 1000 dressing (2); 1
slice light wheat bread (.5)
S:  6 mini miss meringue cookies (1)
Activity points earned: 3
Total: 19.5 points/7 core points

B:  1 cup cantaloupe (1); light whole wheat bagel (1.5)
L:  2 oz sliced turkey breast (1) on 2 slices light wheat bread (1) with 2 slices
ff cheese (1);  2 dill pickle spears (0); carrot and zucchini sticks (0)
D:  5 oz lean pork chop (7); 1 cup wax beans (1); salad/ff italian dressing (0); 1
cup basmati rice medley (3)
S:  skinny cow icecream sandwich (2); apple (1)
Activity points earned:  3
Total:  19.5 points/7.5 core points  (ok, the day was great until I couldn't
resist and had to have a small icecream from coldstone creamery while w/ daughter
to pick up training materials .... log another 13.5 points <sigh>)

Anyway, I think you get the gist.  Go heavy on the fruits/veggies/lean proteins.
Stay away from the evil ice cream. <grin>

I have lost over ninety pounds and yes it works, I am a grazer so my foods
wouldn't be good for a menu, but do a search of this NG and look for the
title journal to see some real days of eating, welcome and good luck, Lee
