Okay, well life's been a little strange lately.
WW - up 1 pound. I don't think it's from being in Vegas, since I was pretty
careful with what I ate. When I got home however, it was another matter.
My mother is still dealing with cravings from quitting smoking and in an
effort to encourage her in that regard we've basically been giving in to her
food cravings. So there's way too much junk in the house at the moment, and
I have NOT been doing a good job with staying away from it. I had thought
for sure I was down, I think my measurements are down a little actually.
MILI - 4 times last week. Not bad considering that 4 days were travel days,
2 with flights and 2 with driving. I made good use of the fitness room at
the Strat in Vegas, which is something I likely won't be doing when staying
at pretty much any other Vegas hotel (the strat charges a $5/day resort fee
which includes use of the fitness rooms, most other hotels charge about
$20/day to use the fitness room and that's just a little steep for me.) I
did half an hour or so on the recumbent bike, did a little walk, and then
*went for a swim* each day. People thought I was nuts. The pool is
outside, on the roof on the 8th floor. It was cold, windy and had been
raining most of the time. And there I was, like an idiot, in the pool. I
actually had one person ask me how I could stand to swim in weather like
that, and I just said "I'm Canadian".
Reception food tasting wasn't really an issue. As predicted, I couldn't eat
most of the foods we sampled anyway. Even when we were at the 1 buffet we
went to, I ate remarkably well. I started out with a nice big (and tasty)
plate of salad with fat-free dressing. I had a little bit of some other
things, but basically if it didn't taste REALLY good I didn't eat it. I
took 3 small dessert items, had 1 bite out of one (it was way too rich) and
shared the other 2 with DFi. One nice thing about many of the Vegas
buffets, they seem to have realized that people like to sample the desserts.
As such they put out much smaller portions that you'd get if you ordered the
item in the restaurant.
We did manage to get both the chapel and the reception venues booked, so now
the date is set in stone - July 9, 2005. Now to make sure the wedding dress
fits!

Sounds like a really constructive week actually - even with that pound. So
let's ignore that pound, focus on how well your Mum is doing, how much
exercise you've been doing, how well you did at the reception.......and
weigh more important - that wedding dress :) Hope this week is a good one.

Congratulations on all the Good news. Exercising during your trip is
most impressive. Now that you've gotten your wedding location settled,
will the rest of your life settle down a bit? You've been on quite the
tear for a few months. Whew! Leaves me breathless thinking about it
all. Oh, and the pesky pound? It'll come off. Just keep doing what
works.

Sounds like you had an exciting week. Great job on the exercise, I like the
swimming on the roof in the wind episode! So you 're getting married a day
before my birthday... July is a beautiful month for a wedding. Now focus on
that dress!
