Well, it was a my first Week 1 + 1 day weigh-in since rejoining WW and
beginning the Core for the first time..... and down an amazing 9.8 lbs! I'm
tickled pink and really needed the boost, as I'm a little nervous about
traveling by car during the next couple of days for a long-distance 6-mo.
post op visit for 13yo DD (who had spinal chord surgery last summer). I'm a
little anxious about the traveling part, but I'm trying my best to plan
ahead by loading the car cooler with fruits, boiled eggs, sliced turkey,
bottled water, etc. I'm sure that while ordering her meal at the McDonald's
drive-thru, they'll get the chance for a change to hear a garbled voice on
the other end, as I chomp on a "fry prevention" apple. <g>
My goal this week is to try really hard (and a long car ride is a good place
to start) to mentally attack and counter all the negative speak that finds
its way creeping into my mind. Things like, "yeah, you'll do well for a
couple of weeks like you always do, then give up" or "just one won't hurt"
or "oh, but you have such a long way to go, it's almost useless." Thoughts
like that can creep into a persons psyche almost undetected sometimes. But,
I'm gonna detect it and reject it, by gum. <bg>
Thanks to you all for your inspiration this week... even if I've been mostly
just lurking... cuz I have most definitely been reading and feeling
inspired.

What a great start. I love core but have never had as large a loss as you.
How about going to Wendy's instead of McD's and order a plain baked potato
and a side salad for a totaly core meal? You can also order the steamed
brocolli without the cheese for your potato. Bring your own FF shredded
cheese in your cooler to top it off. Add your hard boiled egg and some cut
up chicken breast to the side salad for your protein. Bring some FF dressing
for your salad.
When we travel I bring WW smoothies, dry oatmeal, shredded wheat, 94% FF
popcorn, splenda and snack size fruit containers (fruit in juice to be
core). We just get skim milk when we get to our destination. When I flew
home from florida at xmas time I had a container with 94% FF popcorn and a
bottle of water in my back pack for the flight. All very doable. Happy
traveling.

All great suggestions, Laura......... as prepared as I thought I was for the
trip (I wasn't nearly), I wish I'd've read your suggestions earlier. I
will definitely save them, though. I love the thought of packing popcorn,
cuz sometimes you just wanna munch in the car. Great ideas.

That is most incredible. And, if you really want it, you can do it,
first hour by hour and then day by day and then monthly.
If you do not follow the program for a meal or even a day, you can
just restart at the next meal or day. Remember that there will be
those normal BAD days. They are not the end of the world. They are
an opportunity to evaluate and enjoy the release and then get back to
it.
And do not think about how long it is to go. Just take it day by day.
Remember, even as it takes FOREVER (and it won't), you will not be
GAINING more but slowly losing some.
Good luck

Thank you all very much for your kind words. It was a great 2-day 800-mile
trip. First and foremost, it was great because my DD's MRIs came out
picture perfect and spinal chord fluid is flowing freely. <insert huge sigh
of relief here> It's been a long long road, and we're feeling very blessed
right now. Nothing like a little perspective, eh? <g> Secondly, while I
can't say that I was the same picture perfect OP, I was conscious and aware
and very much in control. So, back to the business at hand.... and feeling
very happy all around.
Hope you all have a great week with a few new blessings, too.

Great loss, as to the car, because it is so easy to over eat in the car, the
things that aren't individual like fruit, portion them out ahead of time so
you are made to see how many bags of *insert food here* You have taken. I
hope the Doctors appointment went well, Lee wishing you luck,
