Hello-
I'm about to delve into the WW program, and I'm prepping all the tools I
might need. Instead of subscribing to eTools to calculate the points, I
found the equation and created an Excel spreadsheet.
My question is: If a food comes out to 3.8, should I round to four?
Probably so. But whet if a food comes to 3.3? Do I round up, or down?
Thanks! I'm sure I'll be posting soon with my WW progress.

I have never been sure what WW's policy is on rounding. I choose not to
round at all. I use the tenths. Which ever way you choose to do it, as
long as you are consistent, you should do fine.

Hmm, if you are going to round I suggest always rounding up. That way you
are always over-estimating rather than under. It's the safest way to go.
Although, I never round up or down, just use tenths and add 'em up (but I
use WW Online).

Why not wait until the end of the day and see what fraction you have left?
Then round it off. Less arithmetic involved. I always round fractions off
to one point. If I have say 24.5 before I go to bed I put down 25 pts for
the day.

Well, clearly the WW points system assigns 1 point for every 70 calories and
1 point for every 4 grams of saturated fat. But the calculators you can buy
from WW round this up or down, with the result that the discrepancy can
build up. If you have a spreadsheet and are working it out exactly, why
round up or down individual foods? Why not just add them all up to one
decimal point until they reach your daily allowance?

For *me*, the discipline of rounding up works best.

I generally round to the nearest whole point. As long as you are consistant
in how you round then you will be okay.
