Hi Everyone,
I've lost half a pound since last week, which I'm pleased about because,
regardless of the weight lost, I've been eating a lot healthier and feel
better for it, even though I've been over my calorie allowance on
several days and one day I ate out.
I haven't been able to exercise because my asthma's really bad and I've
had to up my steroids (which causes water retention and ravenous
appetite). I've coped with the appetite by increasing the amount, but
sticking strictly to under 4% fat and having 3 good meals put two snacks
a day. Given that last year I was in this situation, I put *on* 7lbs in
2 weeks, I think I'm going OK.
P.S. As several people have emailed me about it, the only reason I
mention my asthma is to encourage other people with chronic health
challenges that they can lose weight too, and that healthy eating is for
all, not just the healthy!
I've had it since babyhood and it's part of my life and not really (to
me) a big deal. It is not caused by pesticides, colourings or chemicals
- it might surprise you to know that it's Nature I have a problem with
(fur, feathers, pollen, moulds, pine...), in common with the majority of
asthmatics. So I've signed up to live on the Space Station - I reckon
I'd be fine up there, with only artificial stuff ;)
Besides, I'm trying some new drugs and they're great, except when I get
a head cold. Cold viruses are the *worst* thing for asthmatics.

Considering the problems you have, I think a 1/2 pound loss is
wonderful. Hope the asthma improves.

Congrats on the loss.
My dad had asthma and learned over the years to deal with it.
Finally, getting a good tweaking of his meds was really crucial.

Congratulations on the loss Anna. Hope your asthma improves.
My dad suffers from asthma, but recently has been feeling
pretty well. He still has some attacks that worry us alot, but
with the medications he's on he's doing okay.

Good job, Anna. And please keep writing about it, indeed it proves that even
with health challenges it can be done.

seeing your post reminds me of what my Dad said, he said he could breathe
fine if there were no air, Lee
