hi all!

i have a large portion of oatmeal every morning - about 1.5 to 2 cups.
i put in two tbs. of brown sugar and 1.5 ounces of raisins. gotta tell
you, i'm not hungry for the rest of the morning and early afternoon.
then i eat lunch.

how many points can i expect to be eating for breakfast and, this is
from the old exchanges program, do any of the oatmeal points i eat in
the AM count towards protein intake?

thanks in advance

I don't know anything about the old exchange program so I can't answer that
question.

point wise, lets see...

oatmeal = 2 pts per cup cooked (made with water). So your 1.5 to 2 cups
==>3 - 4 points
2 tbs brown sugar = 1.5 pts
1.5 oz raisons =  2.5

Total = 7 to 8

laura-

thanks. i had come up with eight points, and was trying to rationalize
it as 7 as i was eating it first thing in the morning. the exchanges had
a kind of philosophy about carbs in the AM.
