I came accross a website, www.hypnosisnetwork.com that claimed hypnosis
could help me follow my diet.  I am having a hell of a time following
the ww plan and need help but do not want to throw away my money.  Has
anyone tried this?

What's the trouble you are having?  Maybe we can help without you paying
for the witch doctor... ;)

Don't encourage the original poster-spammer...check his posts. He's
never been here before and posted to a bunch of groups about the
'website he came across'.

These guys never stop.

Haven't tried hypnosis Charles so I can't comment.

What are your challenges with staying on ww?  Maybe you can get some
helpful suggestions from this group.

I have found that regular exercise has helped my weight loss, toning
and attitude tremendously.  Other suggestions will surely follow...

Welcome!

I've thought about it, but have read too many books and have seen too
many movies (Manchurian Candidate) about people messing with your head
while under hypnosis.  That was enough to steer me away from it.  All I
need is to be at WI and have them say a trigger word like
"Congratulations" and suddenly get the urge to strip off my clothes,
stand on my head in the corner and sing America the Beautiful. haha.

I always wondered how effective it was though.

I have tried Hypnosis 3 times for weight loss. My goal was to break bad
habits on a subconscious level so I would start making proper choices
without having to use so much  will power.  I did it the last time before
Christmas when I knew I would be doing a lot of baking and eating. I did
loose weight when I went to my meeting after New Year's It is really just
deep relaxation and you are aware during the whole process. A good
therapist will tailor the suggestions just for you after an interview. The
trick is to follow through with the CD that is provided or should be that
is self-guided hypnosis. It takes about 30 days to break a bad habit and
replace it with good habits. The tape/cd is usually 30 minutes long and
should be done for 30 days for success. It makes you take the time to
visualize what you would look like at your new weight or being at a buffet
table and turing away from the dangerous foods to the healthy ones.

As a weight watcher member I have found it helpful with tracking and
journaling, something I could not/would not do before. I have started
seeing myself as a thin person. The excersise is pretty automatic now.
Again, you must be committed to the tapes. If you can find hypnosis tapes
cheap without going to a hypnotherapist you may want to start there. I
understand that the subconscious will not accept a suggestion if it goes
against your beliefs. So, I think it would be pretty safe.
