Well I'm in Edmonton this week, visiting DFi. I was a little leery to get
on the scale Monday morning, but did it anyway and...
I'm down 5 pounds. Whee! I was a little worried that his scale might be a
little off, but it hasn't been off yet so I'm going to go with the theory
that it's an actual loss.
I also managed to get in 5 days of exercise last week.
Now to see if I can keep that loss, and maybe lose a little more for next
week. Monday of course was Valentine's Day, and DFi was thoughtful enough
NOT to get me chocolates. Actually there's a box of See's truffles here
that we were given in November - there's still 5 pieces left in it! I have
been allowing myself one now and then, but frankly I'm impressed that
they've lasted 3 months. For Valentine's dinner we did Chinese food
(frozen) at home, so I was able to just pick bits of what I wanted and not
feel obligated to eat a whole plate of something fattening. For dessert I
made fat-free chocolate pudding mixed with ultra-low-fat CoolWhip - much
more point-friendly than if we had eaten in a restaurant!
Tonight I suspect we'll be ordering pizza, since I don't have anything ready
yet and we have a few hours of errands to do before we're back home. I
don't know what DFi is planning on ordering, but my plan is a veggie pizza,
no olives, thin crust, with only half the cheese.
What I really want to know is, why is it that when I'm here, away from the
comforts of home but still with all the stuff I need for exercise, I have
such a hard time making myself do it? At home I get on the bike and watch
TV, here it's just murder. Of course it might have something to do with the
fact that the TV at home is a 27" or something like that, and I think the
one in the basement here (where the bike is) is a 13"!

Well done. Both on the weight and the exercise. Also in food
choices.
Best for maintaining and going downward from here

Glad to hear you lost even while away from home. Good job. You need to get
DFi a bigger TV and move that bike upstairs to the TV where you can't ignore
it. I can understand not wanting to go into the basement to ride the bike.
Too depressing. At least mine is.

Wow! That is some loss! Congratulations, Amberle. Wish you luck on
keeping the losses coming!

Great job, Amberle! I know it's difficult sometimes when you're not in your
own surroundings. Maybe you just need to change your exercise pattern &
methods when at your DFi's house? Maybe take a brisk 30-min. walk outside
or at the mall instead of the exercise bike.
