MIL is ill, so did a dash to the Frozen North: up yesterday, back today,
350 miles each way.  Spend large chunks of both days sitting in the car
getting no exercise, and ate like a pig.  Now feel far too full and
grumpy.  TOM too...  Grrr.

Have we had any trolls I can bite while I've been away?  The flavour
might put me off food for a day or two.

Back OP tomorrow: zero point soup, bread with no butter, walking, etc...

Good luck getting back OP tomorrow. I hate travel days too. They are so hard
on the system and our normal routine.

We did have one troll over the past couple of days but I think we've scared
him away for now.

It's not so much the travel as the meals!  I am at the mercy of pubs,
motorway service stations, and other people, and get no chance to
exercise to compensate.

Damn!  It's cold enough here for a vat of troll soup...

Monday I had to drive to Leeds & back. Roadworks on the A1 and time of day I
was driving added at least an hour to journey time. I was very good - set
off with a flask full of zero point veggie soup, a couple of plain bread
rolls and an apple to be my food supply for the journey there & back. Got to
Leeds - into client house and it was a case of "you *will* eat." and not
wishing to offend client, I did eat. But I ate very sparingly. Alas, from a
diet point of view, it was wonderfully delicious homemade Indian quisine.
The daal was delicious and the keema (minced lamb) gorgeous. But I ate only
a little. Even so, I felt as if I'd gotten off track and when I got home I
sat & tried to work out some points as best I could for what I'd eaten. I
was over the daily point allowance (first time in current weight loss
regime). The next day I ate very low calorie - lots of zero point veggie
soup & fruit. Of course, the current snow means cycling is not exactly on
the cards :-( I've hooked the bike up to a turbo trainer in the office and
I'm having periodic five minute breaks where I sit on the bike in the office
& spin :-)

Cheers, helen s

How sensible!

DH is a type 1 diabetic, so we always try to have a proper stop.  Also,
I don't drive, so I cannot spell him.  I get very stiff with the fibro
when just sitting, and James needs to get out and run about!  Pub
gardens are good for this in the summer!  Mind you, next time we stop at
the pub at Allington, James and I said we'd share a prawn baguette and a
few chips as the portions were HUUUGE!

You will recover from your slip.  Hope your MIL does, too.

Don't choke on but choke a troll

I know I will, but her problem is a leaking heart valve, and she isn't
strong enough for open heart surgery. She weighs a grand total of 84 lbs.

I'll do that!  :)

I'd have stayed longer, but I have a contract that involves 150m of
white voile...

MIL has been frail for many years.  She had a nervous breakdown,
followed shortly by a stroke, and has been living on borrowed time for
20+ years.  She has a leaky heart valve.  Nothing new, but all her meds
are ganging up on her at the moment.  She wanted us so we went.
