Thanks. That's now a total loss of 39lbs since middle of December, so I'm
pleased with progress.

I seem to average a 1 pound weight loss per week. Since it went on slowly
(most when I quit smoking) I don't expect it to come off fast. We have
already changed how we ate, cooked and snacked over the last 3 years even
before WW. Now it is more portion control and exercising. I am finding
that the boys are liking the fruit snacks a bit more too since I seldom buy
anything else. Only one who is complaining is youngest and that is because
of the braces, he can't eat popcorn, apples and other things like that. So
in 4 months when they come off I expect the complaints to stop.

What about pretzals, bananas and grapes for him? Would they work with the
braces?
Adele Virtue - 26 Feb 2005 14:57 GMT
He won't eat bananas since his stepbrother called himmonkey boy and got the
whole school to also. Pretzels are good but so salty he gets sores in his
mouth, he has no 'satified' button learned yet. At 15 he is the shortest of
the 3 boys(only one my biological and weight is a problem in my family). He
is 5'8" and around 145, a lot is muscle and he is in a Tech school in
plumbing so he gets some exercise in shop class and gym. He also tried out
for the volleyball team in school. He was in wrestling last year in middle
school and was able to maintain at 125 weight class for the season. He put
on muscle when he joined the teen class at the gym for 2 8 week sessions
twice a week. But when the next session came around it was bowling season
and he joined the team then too. He does play a lot of video/computer games
and TV. But I can kick start him when he needs to be. He is the only one
who is thrilled when it snows because of the shoveling he can get in to make
money. The other 2 seem to think if they want we will buy, they are
learning that it don't work that way with ESP(evil step parent)They tell me
I tell their father what to do but what they don't know is that he makes the
decisions, I might make suggestions but I abide by his decision, we just do
these things in private. MY DS though thinks it is cool having a Dad and is
thrilled to have one since his died before he was born. DH says he gets
more respect and actual show of feelings from DH than from his own sons. To
me that is so sad,but the way they were influenced when they were growing up
is the major factor here. They never will be able to reconcile things
totally either since their mother died almost 2 years ago, just 5 months
after the divorce was final. It was not an easy time and there are still
many bumps in the road, but DH and I hang in there and lean more on each
other for support. We have known each other for 30 years, dated right after
HS and finally got it right on the third try each. We aren't going to mess
it up worrying about why my DSS seem to dislike me so much and I am not
going to let it start me bingeing either.
Thanks for letting me rant.
