Spaghetti w/Fresh Basil Meat Sauce 6 POINTS

8 ounces spaghetti -- uncooked
1/2 pound ground round
1 cup finely chopped onion
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 14.5 ounce can diced tomato -- undrained
3 tablespoons tomato paste
1/4 cup dry red wine -- optional
3 tablespoons tomato paste
3/4 teaspoon sugar
1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper -- optional
1/2 cup chopped fresh basil
1 tablespoon olive oil
Cook pasta, omitting fat and salt.
Combine beef, onion and garlic in sauce pan. and cook over medium high heat
until browned, stirring to crumble. Drain Well. Wipe out pan.
Return meat mix to pan. stir in tomatoes and next 4 ingredients. Bring to
boil; cover and simmer 25 minutes. Remove from heat; stir in basil, olive
oil and salt. Cover and let stand 5 minutes. Serve over pasta.
Serving Size: 1 Cup of Pasta(4 POINTS), 1/2 Cup meat sauce(2 POINTS)
