Hi everyone:

Week one and down 11.5 lbs.

I know that next week may be a gain or a break even week, but it feels good
this week and is a great boost.

See, this is what bugs me (not you personally, of course).  My first
week, I lost 3lbs.  Second week, 0.8lbs.  Third week, 3.6lbs.
Everyone's always talking about how, in their first week or three, they
lost a big amount of weight; why hasn't this happened to me?

Same thing happened to me Tay.  I was expecting something good my first week
and it was a little over 2 pounds....  It was dissapointing but I'm still
going and even though I'm on at 6.4 pounds in a month that is 6.4 pounds
that I don't have anymore and i'm happy with that.  Slow and steady wins the
race....

Theresa said it: take what you get since your losses were reasonable
and you are down overall which is better than where you were.
Everyone is different.

But keep on doing what has worked if you want it to keep working

My niece joined and gained 4lbs her first week.  That is 6 weeks ago now and
she is down 15lbs.  It just made her more determined to loose and she worked
harder at it.
She could have easily given up but chose not to use it as an excuse.

I'm glad to read that I wasn't the only one who gained the first week on
weight watchers.
Take Care

that is inspiring, and I think some people gain the first week or so because
they were in starvation mode and it takes time for the body to work out you
are not going to starve, Lee

Don't let it.  Everyone is different, and you have health issues that
can affect weight loss.  Take the loss you had and celebrate it.  I have
a party for a half pound gone!

My first week loss was 1.2lbs.  It's not the first week that counts - it's
all the weeks after that!

I think my first week was 1.6, but I think a majority of it has to do with
how you were eating before and if you had been trying to lose immediately
before joining WW,  I think this does differ for everyone, Lee, who is
always fascinated by first week losses

Thanks Fred:

I did not realize that posting what I lost was going to be a problem for
people in the group.  I guess I will not do that again.

his/her own pace... We also post when we gain. That 's what this group is

Be so proud of what you lost and shout it to the world!!!  I would.
Just because all of us didn't get the great start doesn't mean we don't want
to hear what great successes others have.  It gives me inspiration to know
someone has done so well.  Please keep posting!!!

Please, as the others have said, KEEP POSTING LOSSES for our cheers
and the occasional, well, blip, when it does not go as well.  Losses
encourage the rest of these fine folks and folks can sympathize if
things don't go as well.

Just keep on program.

it is always interesting to see what people lose, makes for a good starting
place to discuss things like why it did or didn't come off as we expected,
