My wife is a lifetime member of WW, but it's been a few years since she was
on the program. She'd like to go back on it to take care of a few pounds,
but she really did much better on the old "exchanges" system over the newer
"points" system. She found it easier to eat a balanced diet because the
exchanges helped her track that she was eating enough protein vs. bread,
etc. But she can't find her old materials and WW won't give her anything but
the new points system.
We've found a list on the Web that gives point values for different foods,
but we haven't been able to find the optional calories list they used to
have. You know, 1 tsp sugar = x optional calories. I believe the list may
have been in a "Food Companion" book dated before 2001.
Does anyone have a list like that and would you be willing to share it?
Thanks!

You can buy old WW program books on Ebay...like the "Quick Success" books,
for example. They were pre-POINTS.
I did WW on the exchange program(Lasted a month) and I am SO GLAD that WW
devised the POINTS plan. It is so much easier than figuring out exchanges,
optional calories, free foods, etc. There wasn't a way to bank up for those
unexpected events, but now there is!
Good luck!
