Got so busy summarizing the challenges that I forgot to post my own
update!

I managed to lose the 2 pounds that I gained last week plus 1 more,
bringing me down to 221 - I haven't been here since.. well I don't even
know how long it's been.  More than 5 years anyway.  I'm greatly
enjoying it.  I'll enjoy even more when I'm finally back down to a
Medium and can raid the many boxes of clothing I have stashed away.

Got in 4 days of exercise last week, although I think that baking ought
to count as exercise!  It sure takes a lot out of you, and I'm pretty
sore the next morning!

At some point I'll count up how many dozens of cookies I've baked.  I'm
not going to get through all 20+ types that we had wanted to have made
for next week, so I'll be baking more after the tour.  I have 3 types
that I want to get made today, and then I have to concentrate on
cleaning!  And yes, I will be posting the recipes - probably tomorrow.

And I'm trying to increase the household cat count.  There's a lovely
all-black stray that's been hanging around the house for a couple of
weeks.  Now that it's getting quite cold I really don't want her (I'm
assuming it's a her) having to live outside for the winter.  I've
managed to entice her just inside the house through window by placing
food and water there.  I can get her about 2 feet inside, but I can't
get close enough to either get hold of her or close the window before
she bolts.  Her feet are all muddy and she's starting to get stuff
caught in her fur, poor thing!  My other cats don't seem to mind her at
all - they see her in the window and just ignore her.  Hopefully I can
get her all the way inside before I leave next week!

And I'm desperately trying to lose about 2 pounds (or an inch or so) for
the tour next week, as we have our big Christmas banquet on Wednesday
and I have a pair of pants that I'm dying to wear.  I bought them at
Herbergers on sale in the spring for something like $5.  They're very
nice tuxedo-style dress pants, with a satiny band across the top, and
the legs are split at the sides about 3/4 of the way up and studded with
rhinestones.  Very cute.  They had no hope of fitting when I bought
them, but I was SURE that I'd get down into them at some point!  I tried
them on the other night and I can get them done up (NSV#1), but I'd like
a little bit of room in them for comfort.  If they're not suitable next
week then I'll wear them when DF is here for Christmas and I make him
take me out for dinner!

NSV #2 was completely unexpected.  I wear 3 rings - one that my DF
bought me for my birthday shortly after we started dating, my engagement
ring, and a coiled snake pinky ring.  I stood up the other day and the
pinky ring fell right off!  No warning, no "gee this is loose" feeling.
Just fell right to the floor.  Fortunately the ring is easily adjusted,
so I've squeezed it a little bit and it seems to be fitting better now,
but now I'm wonderful how long it will be before I have to start
worrying about my engagement ring!

I have two cats that were feral.  If you can, I would wait until I see her
in the window, then would go outside and approach the window from that
direction and try to close it or block the exit.  She might retreat into the
house away from you.

I've been wondering about something like that - unfortunately the window is a
basement window and it's located under the deck!  If it were summer and the
water wasn't frozen I'd be tempted to do a quick squirt with the hose.  Maybe I
can find/borrow a supersoaker or something like that... or another possibility
is a large sheet of cardboard dropped down the narrow opening between the deck
and the house blocking the window.  Now that might work.  Have to see about
setting that up tonight.

I had a loo loo of a time catching my Jersey.  She is marked like a Jersey
cow, ergo the name.  She would sneak into the garage where I put the
catfood.  I was afraid to let the door down for fear I would squash her as
she tried to take off.  I finally got one of my dogs (totally cat friendly
but she didn't know) and went outside and she hid behind the washing machine
in the other side of the garage and I closed the door.  It took 4 weeks to
get her tame enough to come into the house.  She still lets no one near but
me.  Today when we were doing the big dinner she disappeared until everyone
was gone.  My other cat Karma was easy.  He is a boy, and really just walked
right in and got comfortable the day he realized there was Food.  He is in
my lap now.  They are so odd.  She is fat like a football, he has kept his
figure.  They hunt together - go in and out my doggie door.  He lets her eat
first.  She rarely eats cat food.

Congratulations on the great loss Amberle!  All that cookie baking could be
worth an AP or two, especially if you're mixing the dough by hand.  You're
arms would really get a good workout!  I have a Kitchen Aid mixer, so my
arms wouldn't get much.  I've had surgeries on both wrists and hands, so
they don't seem as strong any more as they were when I was younger.
Sometimes they hurt quite badly, so I avoid putting any extra pressure on
them.

those are great NSV's, keep working on cat might take time and sometimes if
you will just leave window open and ignore cat and leave room it will go
findsomewhere to sleep so when you sneak back in room it won't have time to
escape, my grandmother once put a heating pad under some towels to entice
cat and it worked, cat ate and she left room when she came back cat was
asleep on towels she shut door and poof indoor cat, Lee

Aww, that's so sweet. I'm a cat lover too, have 3 of them at present.
Good luck coaxing her in.
