URRR! This was my first full week on WW, eating 18 points, working out
everyday (no exceptions!) and gaine 1.5!!! How is this possible:(
I'm ready to eat donuts and pizza and call it a day...then curl up with
brownies and cry:(

are you eating your activity points? if not you may not be eating enough,
also working out can cause your muscles to retain water so hang in there,
also if you were eating low carb there will be a water gain from adding
carbs back in, give WW a few weeks before you get discouraged, Lee

So eat! If you are exercising you need to eat at least half those
exercise points. Eat them in things like pasta, wholemeal bread, and a
point of two for good chocolate rather than fatty stuff: good wholesome
things and a little treat now and again rather than a pile of rubbish! :)
Drink lots of water too: it'll flush the salts and stuff that help
retain water out of the system. Take account of the Time of the Month:
that too can mean water retention (for me it means a lot over two weeks!).
And stick with it: one week is not enough time to lose anything
significant. A month is a better trial period. :)

Ditto Kate, and ditto Lee.
I thought the lowest we were allowed for a day was 20 points. LIke I've
ever looked at that end of it, of course: even once I've lost all my
weight and then some, I'll still be on like 24/day, so I've never really
bothered examining the low end. I didn't think it got down under 20, tho.
Anyway.. just quickly: Will? Can you email me? There's a pilot program
thing I wanted to ask about. My gmail username is skloak.

Everytime you change your exercise routine (in intensity) your muscles react
to that and keep water... thus water weight..
Wait... you didn't gain weight in a week did you?
Keep following the program for another week, after two weeks, if you're
still gaining talk to your leader about it, make sure you really understand
the program, that you're not under-evaluating the pts..
Main thing remains though... patience.. that's the hardest thing to have in
this.. patience.. I'm not very good at it myself... but one week is just
that.. one week.. in a life time.. take a breath ! ;o)

Hang in there. Next week will be better. Are you sure 18 points is the
right amount?

I'm on 18 points, on the UK Points system. Anything more I have to earn.

Hi, Kate, Thanks for the information. I think the systems are a little
different from country to country.

Certainly seems to! We had a visitor from the USA come to my group for
a while. She was spending a month in the UK. For the duration she
swapped to UK Points, and still lost at her usual rate. So, wherever
you are and however the points are calculated, if you do it right, you
lose! :)

I just checked out your web pages -- the rainbow wedding was fabulous! I
loved the rainbow bodice, sandles and nail polish on the bride! What a
unique project!

That WAS fun - but 16 bridesmaids??? Mad... :) But the bride and kids
were all great, and the skirts and tops all looked just right on the day
- despite torrential rain and my head ending up with a moat round it...
Right now I'm sorting out a set of more conventional wedding attire,
plus that lovely project of turning a 1960's wedding dress into an
outfit for a new bride. :) Oh, and I have a fab bronze one to do for a
lass that is 6'2"!
I'm away for the weekend, so the sewing room is on the move again and
will take up temporary residence in the Frozen North - which seems to
have had even better weather than us these last few days!

Don't worry, that's normal for WW. Most of the folks on this NG have been
with WW for years and are still overweight. Diets generally don't work.
Common-sense eating always does.
