I am a doctoral student in sociology at Kent State University as well a
a clinical nurse specialist. I am currently working on my dissertatio
and am investigating weight loss, weight loss maintenance, and th
development of unique meanings or attitudes. I am writing to recrui
participants for my study and would be very grateful to post a
announcement about my study on this site. My research survey take
about 20 minutes to complete and is available online a
http://newmedia.kent.edu/weightloss. Participants must be at least 1
years of age and either in the process of non-surgically losing weigh
or the process of maintaining a weight loss (any amount and any lengt
of time). I welcome questions about my study and hope you are willin
to contribute to this project by completing my survey. Sincerely, Chri

Took the survey, but the last page won't allow me to complete it. Keeps
asking what my appreciation gift is. I've chosen none, the $1 to the
registry, as well as the Best Buy thing (different tries, thinking that
maybe that was the problem), and it still won't allow me to complete the
survey.

Have fun with your data.

I think I'm the 49 YO.  :)  Just donate to your favourite cancer charity
for me...

Some of the questions were really difficult, from the point of choosing
any answer at all...  Many of them simply had no meaning for me.
Unfortunately, I often find this with surveys: I just don't fit the
standard profile!

Kate, Maybe you fit the standard profile (or the parameters of it) mor
than you think. I hope you just went with your initial thoughts and gu
feelings, especially in the attitudes section, which I know may be
different way to think about things (though the research shows this i
how we feel about things on an unconscious level).  Much thanks agai
for helping me with this project!  Sincerely, Chri

It's just that my gut reaction to a whole slew of the questions didn't
match any of the given answers, PARTICULARLY for feelings and attutudes!
:)  You got rather more nutral answers than I wanted to give simply
because none of those available fitted what I thought.
