Notice the quotes around the vacation part? I was gone for 7 days. The
first 5 days were a volleyball tournament and referee clinic. This meant 3
full 14-16 hour days of classwork, evaluation, and working matches. There
are different kinds of refereeing and I needed to learn how to be the "down"
ref (R2 or umpire for those familiar with VB). This involves always being
on the defensive side of the net so it involves a lot of transitions.
Unfortunately I could not wear my pedometer (not part of the uniform).
While I could have kept it in my pocket I chose not to.
The second to last day of the tournament was only a 9 hour day so I took
myself to a movie (The Devil Wears Prada) and dinner (sushi, miso soup, and
a salad) and went to bed early to get more than 4 hours sleep.
The final day of the tournament was only 6 hours of work for me then DH
arrived. We went on an actual vacation that involved many miles of walking
(museums, mall, zoo) each day.
I stuck to my plan of oatmeal and blueberries for breakfast in my hotel room
each day of the tournament. Lunch was mostly skim milk, fat free yogurt and
turkey on wheat no cheese or mayo. Dinner was usually a cup of soup and a
salad at the hotel restaurant. The first evening we did hit a nice seafood
place and I had some paella (yummy).
With DH we went out to breakfast so I stuck to egg beaters and fruit. I ate
a lot of turkey sandwiches or salads with chicken at different restaurants
and we had a serious splurge dinner last night at a seafood restaurant
(cioppino for me and I actually ate a piece of sourdough bread plus a
decadent chocolate mousse served in an edible dark chocolate container with
lots of strawberries and blueberries).
The "only" workouts I did were walking. I walked everywhere. My feet are
sore but my clothes are loose. :) I'm looking forward to the gym tomorrow.

Wow. That's quite a vacation. Doubt if I could have kept up with
you. Also admire your eating habits while you were away.

Thanks Richard. I doubt that 4 years ago I could have handled a trip like
that myself.

Hi, Nunya, It sounds as if you did very well with your eating. Walking is
an excellent workout.
Hugs,
Catherine

Yes, walking is great for me when I have a purpose (touring a zoo, shopping,
etc.). I do miss my weight lifting though. :)

I know I did actually. I hopped on the scale this afternoon in spite of eating breakfast and lunch and drinking a few pints of water and was down in both lbs. and bf%. I had no problems being back on track even after last night's great meal.
