Just wondering what you eat for breakfast.   ...............Windy

> Just wondering what you eat for breakfast.   ...............Windy

Most days during the warmer months & I'm not working I have Fiber One cereal
with skim milk, a small banana, and blueberries.  When it gets cooler and
I'm back at work I have oatmeal with fruit instead of cold cereal.

I've been eating less in the hot weather.  I have a one or two point
bagel with 2 teaspoons of fruit spread from Trader Joe's, a small bowl
of mixed fresh fruit and a cup of lemon lift tea with one sweet and low.

The current fruit bowl has some slices of fresh fig, peach and plum,
strawberries and blackberries.

Lately my favorite breakfast is:

toasted english muffin with 1 tsp olive oil
then a slice of Happy Cow cheese spread over that then
spreadable fruit over that (oil, cheese and fruit are split between
the two muffin halves)
add a glass of milk for a total of 6 points or WW yogurt for 5 points

One of the following three things:

Cottage cheese topped with 2 poached eggs:  376 calories

Cottage cheese topped with 5 chicken-nugget like things I get from the
convenience store: 416 calories

Oatmeal: 216 calories

I try to do the oatmeal thing as much as possible, but one of the cottage
cheese plates is more satisfying. On those days I am just more careful the
rest of the day.

It's a good idea to start your day with something filling and satisfying.

Any one of the following:

Wheetabix and banana, with milk
Banana sandwich
Porridge with milk
Shredded wheat with banana/dried fruit and milk
Banana smoothie
Cornflakes with milk

Breakfast is usually about 3-4 of my 18 points.

During the work week I try to have a bowl of Special K and an English Muffin
(Thomas' light one point) with spray butter and sugar free smuckers Jam.

On days like today when it was raining and I had a hard time getting out of
bed I will have a bowl of instant oatmeal when I get to work.

On the weekends it varies.  After a Saturday monring workout at the gym my
wife may make egg beaters, with english muffins.  Or maybe a smoothie with
an english muffin.

I have one of those Thomas Light muffins every morning usually along
with 2 eggs scrambled in cooking spray - 5 points

Saturday it's a muffin and oatmeal.

Sunday I splurge and have the eggs and muffin along with potatoes.

Organic thick cut oatmeal and some cheese...GG

When I have the time in the mornings I do something just a little
different.  I'm not a big eater in the morning and usually don't use a
lot of points for lunch with a large vegetable salad, so I will eat my
form of a breakfast burrito.  I have a taco sized low-fat flour
tortilla, scramble some egg substitute, add a chunked boca burger, and
top with chucky salsa.  Some days I can even get away with a little
sprinkle cheese.

Oatmeal! I am trying too eat more of it because of all the health benfits of
it.

Monday to Friday, I usually have 1 cup of ALL BRAN FLAKES with 3/4 cup of 2%
milk = 3 points

Sometimes I will throw in a change up and have 2 slices of light bread toast
with sugar free jam = 2 points or light peanut butter = 3 points

Once in a while I will have a toasted light English Muffin with Nutella
(choc spread) on one half and light peanut butter on the other half = 3
points

On Saturday and Sunday, I do what I've always done since before WW - I have
2 eggs over easy with 3 slices of peameal, a few baked homefries and 2
pieces of toast..........

Hey Gary! It's nice to be back (but heading out again
tomorrow)...........ya, I meant to say peameal "BACON"..........:(

Here is a link........in Canada, we call it BACK BACON.........it's the
best!
http://www.realcanadianbacon.com/

As a matter of fact, I had 6 slices today on the barbecue and on a couple of
light hamburger buns!  YUM, YUM!

Thanks peameal sounds great...We used to barbecue kosher salamis with
mustard and great French bread...But I digress...Most everything is better
on a barbecue...They say a good cruise will put on about a pound a day...I
can personally attest to these stats...Did you find the constant barrage of
food more a challenge or exciting that you could look at it through
different eyes?...For me food is something I'm learning to take control
of...Portion control seems to be sinking in...I can have my moments and
still begin all over the next morning...I hope to continue on this path
forever...I also hope for peace in the middle east or the world for that
matter...I find empowerment in my success and continued ability to get
closer to goal...I'm sure you all know the feeling...GG

I've never heard it called peameal either.  I'm in Canada as well and have
always called
it back bacon.  And you are right, it is very good!

this is just so cool you were able to keep this tradition even during your
losing phase, is a very good indicator you will keep of what you lose, Lee

Canadians eat it. In the States we eat Canadian bacon, high in protein
and low in fat.

Scramble an egg in Microwave (use Olive Oil cooking spray in a bowl),
and serve it on a 110-calorie whole wheat English Muffin! Very filling
and quick. The egg is done before the toaster's done with the muffin.
