It's always an issue for me.. if it's hot, if I had salt, if it's very cold,
if I'm stressed if it's anywhere close to the time of the month.. I'm been
known to go up by 8 lbs in a day..
I was WI-ing everyday for a while, was up and down 5-6 lbs from day to day..
grrrrrrr

Just remeber, water weighs about 8 pounds per gallon. If you drink all the
water you are supposed to drink on the plan, you are injesting 4 pounds of
water. Add a salty meal to the mix and water retention can vary your weight
6 pounds easily from day to day. Being adequately hydrated is important for
weight loss as well as general overall health.
Don't sweat the day to day water weight changes. I track my weight on a
spreadsheet and look at the long term trend (3-4 months), not the day to day
stuff. I have a spreadsheet with both weight and percent body fat on the
same page. My bathroom scale will measure both and I think it is helpful to
see the changes in body fat beside the overall weight. If my weight changes
for the worse (up, of course), I like to see if my percent of fat
composition also changed. I am working out a lot lately and while my weight
has not decreased much in the past months, the percent body fat has. I am
losing the bad stuff while adding muscle. No net change of weight, but a
positive movement overall which the scale alone won't tell.
If anyone wants a copy of the spreadsheet, drop me a line and I am glad to
share with the group.

I'm aware of this Matthew, but thanks for the look up!
I have my own spreadsheets that I've developped for myself and shared with
my members.. ;o)

Willow, you must be a great leader because you care so much. My leader
is the same. She lives and breathes WW and just can relate to all of
us, young and old. The best part is she tells us about her struggles so
she comes across as totally normal.I'll miss the meetings these next
weeks I'm out of town.

Unfortunately us leaders who want to help more than work "by the book" often
get in troubles for it.. that spreadsheet almost cost me my job..

My leader often begins with "Don't say where you heard this but . . ."
It may be for something like telling us about hungrygirl.com that rates
a lot of products and gives the WW points for them. A good leader knows
it takes more than WW products and tools to win this battle. Your
spreadsheet sounds wonderful and I know you put a lot of time and
thought into them. It's a shame those in charge are so inflexible.

On the other hand, a lot of leaders play doctor (and not in a sexy way hehe)
and diagnoses people's problem, recomment supplement sometimes even
medication, and all around go WAY over our heads...
It's a fine line to walk. I play with tools, with ways to make this more fun
and happy.. not with people's health..

daily... I always recommend you see a nutritionist, your doctor or another
health person you are comfortable with, I so like her

I heard a leader ask a member to get tested for thyroid... when it came back
negative, she told the member to get tested again by another doctor because
it had to be wrong...
How in H... would you know?

that would scare the crap outta me if I heard that. What I like about mine
is that she lets you know seeking supplements/vitamins is not a bad thing
but she doesn't offer herself as an expert, in fact doesn't give that
advice, Lee
