don't buy cookies, cakes etc.....but if someone brings them here I ea
them. When I was younger I was pretty good at telling myself no, , bu

here"

The bread bin, the fridge, and the cupboard with the cereal bars in all
have notes on them saying 'Need or Greed?'

Start by recognising the trigger times: WHEN do you snack? What are
you doing at that time? Maybe you should try altering the routine so
that you are busy at trigger times. Then tell folk NOT to bring the
trigger food to you. Once you get them out of your system and your
routine, you will find that you can cope when they turn up unexpectedly.

I hope no one thinks that I am being dismissive of the Weight
Watchers program...
I know many who have had great success. I just relate so much to the
post about willpower around sweets, and just wanted to say that now
that I am on the South Beach Diet, my cravings after less than a month
are entirely gone. This is just my personal experience, of course, and
not everyone will have the same good fortune, but I find that when I
stay away from all of those things I crave: breads, cakes, candy, etc,
etc... in VERY short order my cravings go away. Then my willpower isn't
even in question.
Food addiction is powerful and as with any addiction, just "telling
yourself no" isn't something that's high on the list of priorities, for
the addict. When I was off of South Beach and eating whatever I wanted,
my cravings and binge eating was out of control.
Now I eat delicious food and have already lost nine pounds since August
30th.
I wish everyone here good health. I hope I haven't spoken out of
turn by posting here.
regards, Sue

you that you can do forever, seems like you found it for you, good deal!!!

Stop trying and do it...You can get control...You need to want it bad
enough...But you first need to say you can...And in fact you can...Begin
now...Remember the old saying..."Today is the first day of the rest of your
life"...I made the commitment Dec.21 2005 and I'm happier than I have been
in years...And I'm now 55...When you are ready the willpower will be
there...GG

Sorry for the late reply. A lot of times when you think you are hungry you
are truly thirsty, try a glass of water before snacking and see if the
feeling passes. If you have the urge to snack, wait 20 minutes and do
something else to busy yourself and see if the urge passes. A lot of times
it is boredom or thirst that is getting you and you tend to snack to satisfy
that feeling.

Do something else, anything, get up and move, clean house (ugh), go for
a walk, have sex (kidding), but seriously, and, most of all, change
your habit. Finally as has been said, identify your triggers and act
accordingly.
