Morning gang ....

My DW bought some bread yesterday and I need to double check my math
and possibly my understanding.

Natures Own Double Fiber Wheat
grams: 5 calories: 40 fat:1 = 0

Is this possible for bread?  If so what would be the break point of
where I would start counting?

Thanks

Ralph

1 serving is 0 pts, two serving is 1 pts. You never want to just add up the
points for multiple servings, you always want to add up the values
(calories, fat g, Fiber g) and use your point finder (or calculator) all
over again. Remember that the fibers are capped at 4. So no matter how many
servings, you never count more than 4 grams of Fiber. That is if you follow
the current US program, I'm not sure where you are.

Hope I'm making sense.. first coffee ;op

Thanks Will

That makes perfect sense.  I knew it had to add up somehow.

There's a difference between "free foods" and 0 pts foods. That's where a
lot of people get confused.

Some vegetables, that vegetable soup, FF broth, are free foods. No matter
how many cups of lettuce you eat, it's free, 0 pts. Can you eat enough
lettuce to gain weight? Probably, but it would take an enormous ammount, who
on earth would do that? It's disgusting to even think about!

There are 0 pts foods. Those are the foods that end up being 0 pts on the
slider/calculator.  Those will be 0 pts for one serving, but not necessarily
for two, or 3 servings. Those foods you have to figure the points for
multiple servings. There are several tortillas on the marquet that are 0 pts
for one.. breads, fruit snacks... They can be good choices, but they do add
up after a while...

I kinda freaked at the thought of zero bread so always count a half a point
per slice because of the way I eat.  it could easily be 3 points total in a
day when doing flex so I always count it that way.  Lee

That's a good way to do it if you know you'll have more than one during the
day.. I do that too.

it sure makes me more comfortable to do it that way, otherwise I could be on
core and eat 1 slice a day and not use any WPA, Lee, jittery at that thought

You guys might be better getting off the 'point system'
Learn to use calories/fat to plan you eating.

Its on most packaging.

NOT POINTS

buy a $1.19 calculator.  A lot less than a monthly membership

Remember, to lose weight, take in less than you need

quite simple

Only thing wrong is he wont admit of not being able to add 100 plus 38 plus
200 on a pad and pencil.

Simple, yep, he sure is.  Simple minded!

I often wonder what brings you folks out of the woodwork...A
vendetta...Maybe you feel burned by WW...Or your loved one ran off with the
WW leader...Unimportant but interesting...Every group has a few...Some
really way out there...Others who just get a kick out of pulling peoples
chains...And then the rare person who believes the manure he spews...I guess
time will tell...That can be show by using a clock or calendar...Possibly
you own one or the other?...Yes it's just that simple...Remember
simple?...Thanks for the momentary diversion...GG

So basically you've assumed people have no math skills and yet you have very
poor English skills.  Who's the one with the problem?  Not the people
succeeding on WW losing weight by counting points.  Maybe the one who can't
seem to read that this is a WW based group?

What's wrong? Is real life so bad that you have to go online to harass
others who were miding their own business and make yourself feel better?
Gee, I hope it worked out for you because you appear to be in such sad
straits that you need some sort of help with your issues.

I've lost 70 lbs and maintained the loss, I never was deprived, I never had
to spend my days doing math and looking stuff up, I just do my thing and
record my foods...

How do I need you to "better me"?

This is funny to see how people with issues try to hurt others just so they
can feel better about themselves..

You can't buy a $1.19 calculator to help with reading comprehension.

Well, I for one am doing very well on the Points system.  I have come down
from 210 to 186 in just a couple of months.  The only reason I inquired
about the bread was becasue I was trying to find a way to put it back in my
diet without guilt and 1 or 2 pts is almost "no guilt" and very do-able.

As for the old Calorie calc. routine, ... been there, done that, and it is
so unsatisfying....  Point system lets me eat something I really should not
eat on a regular calorie diet, and lets me change that days eating to fit in
the no-no food like pizza.    If I know that I am going to eat something
like pizza, I can eat 0 pt foods and low pts food like oatmeal or something
all day up to "pizza time"  Just works for me.... "Pizza time is not
something I do on a regular basis but sometimes you just need to feed
yourself something you really love.  This is the only diet that has ever
worked for me since I got over 45.  I must confess that I am getting sick of
oatmeal but eating it for breakfast holds my appatite alarm at bay for much
longer than other breakfast food; and this lets me enjoy more pts for dinner
which is my downfall since I have to cook for my hubby and always end up
eating "just a little" which might take me over my pts if I ate a heavier
breakfast.

Gosh, I didn't think I set out to write a novel.....

try adding some different flavors to your oatmeal, cinnamon, or some splenda
brown sugar, or some cool fruit like raisins or blueberries, might be a
point or so more but might kill the boredom, Lee
