I returned to meetings last week.  I lost 3.4 lbs.  I feel very confident
that the weight will continue to come off.
Hugs,
Catherine

One of the reasons I returned to meetings was your perseverance.  I can not
thank you enough.

It is the same for me.  I would have tried something else, I was so
disheartened with the meetings in my area.  But I thought I would give
it one more shot.  Glad I did and I am glad I am not alone. Welcome
back Catherine.

Hi, Ralph, The reason I left the meetings was the leader.  I did not
feel supported at all.  Imagine my surprise when I saw the same
leader at this meeting!  One of us has changed because she didn't
make me crazy.

That's kinda funny actually, but only because it didn't happen to me.

Sometimes the group "changes" the leader. I'm just more hyper with certain
groups than I am with others...

this is very true, the leader I like best adjust her style to the group, the
Wednesday night meeting is best described as rowdy, and tending toward more
"adult" topics/comments, the Saturday morning and Wednesday noon meetings
are more"housewifely" and she treats them completely differently, but does
get the same points across, Lee

I like the rowdy groups.. hehehe those are the best ones... you ask one
questions and the discussion is on.

Nightmare for a leader is groups that won't say a word... Total freak out..

there is one leader that is perfect one on one but can NOT lead a group, I
wish we still had express meetings so I could do WI once a month to talk to
her, her meetings are just NOT good, she is also very nice, Lee

"Express Meetings"?  That sounds interesteing, how do those work?
Stormmee - 06 Oct 2006 20:28 GMT
the time is open for about 2 hours, you go in get WI and get the materials
if any, and five to ten minutes one on one, you wait your turn, but when
they do this they have 3 people doing WI and 2 people to give the info, nice
if you are in a hurry, need a change or want to talk privately about an
issue with no guilt, unfortunately they quit it at our center, Lee

Our express meetings are different from what Lee describes.

A normal meeting is approx. 45 minutes.

An express meeting is held for only 30 minutes so that people can get in and
out quickly, especially for those coming during their lunch time.

Good point.  She seems happier with herself and it shows in the meeting.

I did find it funny, the one leader I was trying to avoid and there she was!
It was a good meeting and I am very happy that I stayed for the first
and returned for the second.  If she makes me crazy again, I know I
can go to another center.  Admitting that I needed the meeting was a
giant first step for me.

Amen to that...

I am powerless over the leaders and my life is unmanageable.
