On holding pattern

I have been just coasting for a couple of weeks now...  by coasting, I mean
maintaing my weight not gaining or losing.  You know, like a holding
pattern.

I should feel guilty for this but I don't.  I have been 200 to 210 for many
years and now I am down to 186 and feel so much better... my hips don't
hurt, knees, et. because of added weight to my bones that were not made for
it.  This point system diet is always in my mind if I am to eat some high
point food and I adjust the remaing p ts for that day to still fit within my
24 pt regime.  Unfortunatly, I have been having to do this more lately as I
really miss eating "good" stuff.

But, being 20+ pounds down and not gainning is still a success to me. I have
been eating a little more "good stuff" than I should, but fulfilling my
"taste buds" and today I have decided that I am ready to get back on
course.....  and drink my water which I have cut back on because it is no
longer hot.

Just thought I would share my little story with you .  And Steve, don't
bother to write about changing to calorie counting......  nobody cares what
you think.

Hi Windy!

Very happy for you! 24 lbs is a great loss! Be proud of your achievement!
You talk about being in a holding pattern.....yes, I can relate.......it's
been an agonizing summer for me......up and down like a YoYo since June and
I've just had 2 gains in the last 2 weeks......but still hovering around the
75 lbs lost.

Things will kick in for you......(and for me)......we both just need to keep
it foremost in our minds......and in my particular case...........there's no
way that I'm going back! I still have so much more to lose.

Keep up the good work.....try to find those things that keep you motivated
and stay positive.

Maintaining is better than gaining!  Being down 20+ is awesome and I'm sure
you do feel much better.  Three years ago I lost close to 40 lbs and felt
wonderful!  After gaining it all back, plus more, I am back on plan and
looking forward to getting back to where I was then.  Right now I feel like
crap - sore foot, knees, back....and to top it off a cold that is just
starting, so a sore head and sinuses too!

I have also been in a holding pattern, at least for the last couple of
months.  I've lost 67 lbs. since the beginning of January and I have 21
pounds to reach goal.  My health has significantly improved and I feel much
better.  I don't really feel guilty about being at a standstill since I'm
not gaining and have really learned to control what I eat.  However, I
can't quite seem to get back in a losing mode and I'd really like to make
goal.

Hi Windy.  I'm glad you posted!  At 14 lbs lost I've reached a little
plateau myself.  I'm glad you talked about how much better you feel.  I
needed to read that.  I have a bunch of health problems (arthritis and high
blood pressure among others) and I'm looking forward to the weight loss
helping to resolve some of them.  I wish you success in getting back on
track.

Thank you so much for all your kind words of incouragment.  Guess What!  I
actually ... finally... lost one pound....  I am amazed that most of you
have lost a lot moreweight than I did and still incouraged to do the diet!
I tell you, this diet is awsome......no other diet has ever motivated me
more.  I am afraid though when I lose more weight my chin is going to hang
down to where my boobs are suppose to be, my boobs hang down to where my
tummy was, and my tummy down where my knees are....  thank God my knees are
still in the place they started!

I love you guys and WE CAN DO IT!

Better to be on a holding pattern than a gaining pattern. Congrats on
the loss.
