I've been catching up reading posts... and though I don't have time to
respond to everything, I wanted to point something out.

This group is a heck of a great place to be. I'm reading "reports" from
pretty much everybody, and I am soooo impressed by everybody's success, not
only in weight loss, but in... attitude? mentality?

I'm not sure how to explain it, but everybody posting is either reporting a
loss, a controlled gain, or a "I got out of control, but here's my plan to
get back on track". The very few post about "not being able to figure this
out just now" aren't whinning rant about how unfair life is... but rather a
"Gee I still need to work on this, any idea anybody?"

Everybody is solution oriented, well aware that it's up to each of us, but
that we can support and help each others out..

I love this place.. just thought I'd let you know!

Thanks for your post Willow.

Considering that you are a leader, I had personally hoped to hear more from
you, but I also understand that you are very busy.

Your posting is really welcomed.  Thanks,

I try very hard to be a "member" here, not a leader. There's 2 reasons for
this...

1- The main reason is that  I don't want to be "the leader" in here.. I do
that enough already. The challenge of being a leader, is that you have to
"know better" all the time. You're there to help people, and your own
struggles, issues, victories matters only in how it will help your members.
There's no place for your own plan as a leader cause it's all about the
members.

Staff are members too, and it's hard to go to a meeting as a member for me
since I do a lot of fills for other leaders. Every time I walk in a group in
my area, they see the leader, not the girl who's trying to keep a grip on
her weight... ;o)

2- WW is a business, I know there are a lot of ppls doing the program
without going to meetings, and as an employee, I owe loyalty to my
employers. WW staff aren't very well paid, and any penny lost by the company
because people steal the program, is cut from the staff.. the CEO isn't
gonna cut HER salary for any loss, instead, mileage isn't being paid anymore
to the little dummy at the bottom of the line (that's us, leaders and
receptionists).

I'm not going to give "leader support" for free online, because I feel like
it's punishing those work for WW full time and depend on it for survival and
benefits. I work part time now, and live off my DH salary... but I have lots
of my friends who are trying to live on WW alone.. believe me.. it's not
easy.

All of this said, I'll help if I can, and have gone a little farther than I
probably should with members here, but I'm here as a MEMBER, not a leader.

I fully agree with the position you take Willow, but I think you
misunderstood my comments.

I'm not trying to sound like I'm whining, but I guess I'm just a little
disappointed that you find time to respond to others posting in here, but
you seem not to respond to any of mine.  It's a trend I've noticed for a
long time.

I know I can't (or shouldn't, or won't) beg for support, but I just feel
that you continually don't post any support or comments to any of my
postings.

It's nothing personal, so please don't take any offense...........it's just
something that I've noticed since I've been in this group.

I just thought that, as a leader outside of this group, you might have been
the one person that "might" go out of their way to give most in this group
(if not all) the support we are all looking for.  I feel a little left out -
but hey, maybe I've offended you in some way in the past and don't realize
it?

As I said, please don't take any offense to my comments..........I know that
no one in here is obligated to post or reply to every single post, but most
of us do..........

I have never deliberately avoided answering to you. I don't answer to more
than about 5% of what I read, and you'll notice that I'll post a storm for a
few hours.. and then disapear for days... I also "mark as read" a lot since
there's no way I could read everything.. I have more time now, but I've been
working up to 16 meetings a week, scheduled 2:30h per meeting.. and more (as
you probably know, most WW staff work a lot more than the scheduled time)..

Our schedule probably just don't fit.. I've read and enjoyed many of your
posts.

My previous explanation's goal was to avoid exactly this, I feel no
responsability here "as a leader" to support more, to go out of my eay to
help everybody...  It isn't very fair, I think, to expect that of me. I try
to support as much as I can, and yes, there are members here that I talk to
more than others, Lee for exemple, simply because I feel closer to them. I
also tend to connect better to "maintainers" who have made goal (where's
Lesanne???)  because they're in the same situation I am. I just relate
better to them.

It's the same way that in a meeting room, if you're a member (not staff)
you'll talk to some people more, some less, and some you just didn't happen
to.. not for any other reasons that it "didn't happen". Doesn't mean you
don't like them, or that you are avoiding them, just that it hasn't
happened..

Don't worry, I'm a big mouth, if I've got anything against you, I'll let you
know.. heheh

and partly of this is because your posts are always so good that it
sometimes makes me happy enough I just click on as I am happy and I have to
go back to respond, Lee

I can relate.  I really don't have time to respond to every post I'd like
to.  Some weeks are too busy to do much but lurk quickly.  I also know how
you feel about the leader thing.  I spend all day providing support,
encouragement, etc. to everyone around me. Everyone is so helpless you'd
think I was dealing with children! ;)  By the time I get home, I feel for
people but don't always have the mental energy to provide even a little bit
more.

Lately I haven't been able to post due to my schedule, need for extra sleep
and my badly sprained right thumb.  It hurt to type until today.  I still
can't lift weights or do any yoga poses that require putting any weight on
my hands.  My resp. infection is in its 4th week I think (lost count) while
people at work are 5 or 6 weeks into this thing.  There's no fever anymore
or sore throat but lots of coughing still. Last week I had to take meclizine
for vertigo caused by fluid in the inner ear so that knocked me on my butt.
Needless to say my diet and exercise plan along with this group, has not
been up there on my priorities - but it's nothing personal to anyone here.
