I'm on a never ending quest to make this new lifestyle a second nature.
Something that just is what I do, rather than something I pick up every six
months when my weight gets too close to goal.
I've always been convinced that the most important thing is to make this
enjoyable. I still believe that, and am always looking for new ways to have
fun with this. I've discovered that "enjoyable" doesn't mean "easy" or even
pain free, it just means fun. The more you move, the more fun you have
moving.
On the other hand, nobody can keep forever the lifestyle of an olympic
athlete, not even the athlete themselves. Balance is the key.
This morning I didn't feel like getting out of my warm, comfy bed. Really,
my bedsheets were holding me down with all their might, and getting up
seemed to be near impossible. I got to wonder if I was wanting to sleep in
because I was tired, and my body needed a break? Or was I just comfy and
lazy and not wanting to move just because I didn't wanna? Hum... I'm wasn't
hurting anywhere, I slept like a rock all night, I did work out yesterday,
but I didn't feel any twinge of overdoing it.
Face it lady, you're just freaking lazy!
The man is sitting on the side of the bed, sleepy eyed, looked back at me
(kinda, he didn't have his glasses, couldn't see a thing) and went: "Make up
your mind, do I get dressed, or do I go back to bed?" I took a deep breath,
pulled off the bedcovers (oooooooooh cold!!!!) and here we go!
We did 20 minute heavy cardio, and core training! We didn't beat any
record, we didn't qualify for the next olympics, but we did go, and were all
happy and boosted up when we came home!
It was fun, for a 2 minutes of suffering while getting out of bed and
getting ready n stuff, we had 1h of good working out, and a whole day of
feeling upbeat, healthy and proud of ourselves !!
Isn't it worth it?

Getting there is such a hurdle some days isn't it? I have to light a
fire under my a$$ some days to get my butt to the gym. I can't do it in
the mornings. Even if I was able to go, which means DH being home and
able to look after the kids who rise at 6 am, there is no way I could
get out of bed. It would mean giving up a rare sleep in :o) I do my
workouts at 8 pm in the evening which poses it's own challenges.
Good for you though for getting up and doing the workout! It always
feels great once you're done. Sometimes not so great the next day, my
legs are still killing me from the Step Challenge class I did a couple
of days ago (why oh why I took a challenge class when I hadn't been to a
step class in 10 years is still beyond me).
