There is a guy in my meeting that lost over 125 pounds.  Had some
emotional problems at home and gained it all back, plus some.  He has
never stopped coming to meetings even with all the weight gain.  He has
been going to meetings steady for three years now, and is planning on
running a marathon this December.

... and to think I am ready to give up when I have a set back for a
couple of weeks.

Talk about setting an example.

That's really scary!  I have a woman in my group that has lost 158
lbs!.......she had previously lost 100 lbs prior, put it all back on and has
now lost 158 lbs!........It's just unbelievable to think that someone would
make such an effort to lose so much weight, but then put it all back on!  It
scares the hell out of me!!!!!!!!!!

I guess that's why I'm taking it slow and steady and trying to make
permanent change in my lifestyle so that it doesn't happen to me as
well!.........I have to lose approx. 206 lbs if I want to get within the
proper BMI range for my age and height and there's no damn way I'm going to
put all this effort into this and then go right back to square one! NO WAY!

Hang in there Ralph..........

Me, too.  I had a lovely first week and now feel as if I am struggling but I
would
prefer to struggle than give up.  At least if I keep trying, I think the
weight will
come off eventually.

Catherine

Me too, also I'd rather see it as a challenge to meet, than a struggle
getting in my way..

That way I can be on a great "Quest to better myself" rather than struggling
to lose a few lbs..

I'm gonna beat them dragons!
