IFFC week 11 - Prairie Roots

The scale was down 1.8 lbs this week, getting me past my mini goal of
having lost 35 lbs. My next mini goal is to get under 195....

The new/lower points range has become much easier for me to follow.
This week I stayed close to mid-range all week, and even had a couple
of days when I wondered if I could eat them all. And then I remembered
my homemade peanut butter cups and the "problem" was solved with
protein, no sugar.

Thankfully, I met my exercise goals this week and earned a Red star on
the SSEC. I went to water aerobics three times and tried a new fitness
class: BOSU. Anyone else heard of it or tried it? You use a BOSU
balance trainer (like an exercise ball that's been cut in half) to
work on balance, core stability, and aerobic conditioning. Let me tell
you, it's much harder than it looks. No way could I have even
attempted this 35 lbs ago. As it is, I'm still gasping from Thursday's
workout. I can tell it's working though on those inner abdominals.
(About.com has information if you're interested in learning more:
http://exercise.about.com/cs/exercisegear/a/bosu.htm )

I measured myself today: Over the last 4 weeks, I've lost another 8.5"
overall, and 29" total since starting WW.

That might be one important reason I've never been able to sustain a
weight loss before. I felt even more invisible in intimate
relationships when thinner than I did when fat. I needed to be able to
"throw my weight around." So what's different now? First I learned how
not to be a doormat. And then I got a divorce. ;o)

Wow, Linda, you are doing so well;-)

Congrats on the 1.8 lbs lost, that's super.  I measured myself at the
start of the IFFC and am trying to ignore my tape measure until the end
of next week.

I tried yams again last week after many, many years, baked with a bit of
FF sour cream--abosuletely delicious.

Continued best wishes on reaching even more mini-goals--you're just
flying right by them.

I measure myself every 4 weeks on WI day. This is the first weight
loss experience I've incorporated a tape measure and I'm really glad
I'm doing this. When you measure yourself next week, you're going to
be shocked, especially after waiting for the conclusion of IFFC. I'll
be eager to read your results.

I've just used I Can't Believe It's Not Butter spray ( 0 pts ). But
now you've got my mouth watering for FF sour cream. Maybe tonight. I'm
having yams with BBQ pork tenderloin.

Thanks Linda. You're a pal. (I set my mini goals close enough so I can
hit one every couple of weeks at most.)

BTW, I'm still thinking about a post you wrote in the last couple of
weeks about what got you into WW this time. I just want you to know
how courageous I think you are. That you were able to emerge from the
fog long enough to join WW with no other goal than to stop gaining
more weight is one of the most clear-headed things I've ever heard
anyone doing. I'm so glad you didn't stay down forever. You are a
champion!
