I just returned from 8 days in China. I was in Beijing, Xian and
Shanghai. I haven't gotten on the scale today but my clothes seem to
fit fine. At every meal our plate was no bigger than a coffee saucer
and the soup dish was equally small. This contrasts greatly with the
dinner plates we use in the States. We had Chinese food from different
regions. Everything was exceptionally well seasoned and prepared. The
meals were buffet style but portions were not as huge as we have in US
Chinese restaurants. At one restaurant we had the 14 course meal but
there were no more than a few bites per course similar to a very high
end gourmet restaurant. I drank a lot of bottled water and bottled
green tea and occasionally had a beer or pepsi zero.

Sounds like a fabulous vacation, with great food choices.
