Go swimming first thing!  I had a chuink of home made flapjack as an
energy booster before hitting the pool, and then earned a good 4 points
spending an hour swimming with my son. Then we went straight off to
Knole House, where we picnicked in the park before exploring the house,
and then having a great walk round the grounds.

There were a lot of wasps at the picnic: ended up playing table tennis
with them as balls, using a picnic plate as a bat! That also helped when
we got mugged by a deer, which stole a bit of cucumber, slobbered on the
loaf of bread (I just sliced that end off and we ate the rest!), and
tried to climb over me! Alan had to pick it's front legs up and shift
it! After that, any more that came too close got a bat on the nose with
The Plate! They are Fallow Deer, so not too big!

Picnic menu:

Cold roast chicken (2 points a portion)
French bread (2 points per chunk)
Goat cheese and Philly Extra Light
Pasta salad (3 points per portion)
Tomatoes and cucumber (zero poinst)
Home made blackcurrent mousse (half a point a portion - really!  and yummy)
Local Victoria plums (half a point for two)
Home made flapjack with cherries and cranberries (1.5 points a slice)
All washed down with Pawley Farm Bramley apple juice and a bottle of
Moet & Chandon that was a Silver Wedding prezzy from a cousin.

After the picnic I earned another three points walking round the house
and grounds in the sun.  I needed a cuppa after the house, but was still
too full from lunch to eat anything other than a mouthful to taste the
HUGE slice of chocolate cake James had!  :D

After a light supper in the evening, I'd consumed 22.5 points, so I was
still inside my daily allowance of 18, plus the 7 earned, even though I
knocked two more off for going over on Friday.

I've been a bit off track recently: too many celebrations and too much
other stuff going on.  Up 5lbs on my goal weight last weigh in on
Thursday evening, so I'm trying to haul it back.  The weight seems to be
down a bit even since then, so something's working!  I just have to
avoid cake and biscuits, get a bit more exercise, and get back on the
carrots and fruit!

The weather hasd been so awful here all summer that for this week I'd
planned an almost winter menue!  Butter Nut Soup and broccoli soup
featured...  Now we finally have some August rather than a reissue of
February, and the fridge is full of soup ingredients rather than salad
stuff!

You can nevvvvver win the weather war in the UK...  This is the first
really HOT August Bank Holiday weekend for several years!

Happy anniversary!  Your picnic sounds delightful.  We celebrated our
34th with dinner at a lovely Italian restaurant.  Today it's back on
plan.  I am roasting a chicken, made a salad with arugula and our own
cucumbers and tomatoes, zucchini with lemon and oregano, corn on the cob
and ice tea. Last week we ate out four nights in a row so this week I
will enjoy cooking at home.

Thank you!  :)

The anniversary was last month, and I haven't really been ON plan for
about six weeks...  I suppose a five pound gain is not surprising when I
got lazy about tracking and about planning menus for the week.  While we
have had to change the menus a bit this week, to cope with the picnic
and the change in the weather, at least I *had* a plan!  And I can swap
things about more easily when I know what I have in the frige & freezer
by way of bambi burgers and chicken breasts, butternut squash and tomatoes!

At least this week I'm only facing one meal out!  And that's lunch...
If we go to the right place, I can have a humongous pile of salads for 4
points.  :)
