The weather is cooler this week so I finally bought steel cut oats.  I
saved Willow's recipe but instead of leaving them overnight, I cooked a
cup in 4 cups of boiling water, stirring frequently at first and then
occasionally until they thickened for 30 minutes.  After they cooled, I
separated them into four tupperware containers.  I have been enjoying
them with a tiny bit of sweetener and fresh blueberries and
strawberries.

I put it all in one big container, and take out of it until I run out!

Found these Steel Cut Oats down here in this area also.  Went to the
Health Food Store and they ordered them. Did Willow's recipe overnight
and had them this morning with cranberries and sweetner.  Delicious... a
welcome change from Oatmeal.  Put the rest in the frig, and will vary
the "add ins" each time.
Thanks Willow.

She puts one cup of the oats into 4 cups boiling water and then turns
off the heat and lets them stay over night.  I put one cup into 4 cups
of boiling water and then stirred for 1/2 hour lowering the heat to a
steady boil and then stirring occasionally.  They were thick after the
30 minutes.  I let them cool and divided them into 4 tupperwares I put
in the refrigerator.  In the morning I have heated the oats for about 1
minute 20 seconds, added a bit of sweetener and nonfat milk and mixed in
berries.  Right now I can get fresh blueberries.  Trader Joes frozen
morello cherries are yummy too.  I will also try the cranberries and
other things.

These make me so full and satisfied all morning.

do you heat the oats in the micro or back in a pan?

I use the microwave. While it's heating I get out the other ingredients
I'm going to add to it.
