You know, the "putting on muscle" thing. Sigh. I started back to the
gym this week (I had surgery and was wimping around here for about two
months since THAT was preceded by a ruptured lumbar disc. ARE WE HAVING
FUN YET???) and hit the old muscle-weight thing. I know it will sort
itself out soonest but it really does bite on the scales, y'all. Still,
wouldn't trade it for the sense or well-being it gives not to mention
the energy boost, but, shucks. Just thought I'd whine to those who've
been through it.
I just ordered ALL the new wwer cookbooks. Well, most of them. I saw
that one has a recipe for calamari. Can't wait. Of course, getting
fresh calamari is quite an odyssey when you live in
all-roads-lead-to-Walmart country. I have to drive to the nearest big
town where one is likely to find stuff like that.
Yet another whine....

If you are seeing an increase on the scales when first starting up an
exercise program you may be seeing water retention in your muscles. Not
actual muscles. when you strain the muscles they retain water as a heeling
mechanism. And yes, they will heal themselves and the water weight will
disappear. Hang in there. Don't let it discourage you from working out.

Thanks. I know all that but it's nice to have somebody else say it (-;
