WW is more than just the points formula. If you go to meetings you get
support and guidance and other people surrounding you who have been
through and are going through exactly what you are. If you're
self-motivated and can happily track and weigh and so on by yourself,
then no, I wouldn't join. If you enjoy having other people around, the
meetings are invaluble.

There are good and bad things about going to meetings. Good- the support
from others, and for me, my leader is an idiot. I have to do a lot of
looking over what she says .. how often she gets points values wrong and
that damn clacker. There are many other people who go to my meeting who
can't sand her, but we are there for each other and pretty much ignore her.
So, even thought my leader is an idiot, the other members who go are woth
the meeting fees.
It all depends on what your looking for .. because really, after the first
meeting, everyone has the points formula.

I drive twice as far as I could because I don't like the local
leader/teacher. Has anyone thought to complain to the main office? We all
like different things in different people and many people like the lady I
avoid.
I go to meetings because I need someone to answer to. In the end it is me
who I answer to, but I like that I will be weighed every week to see the
results. I like learning about new foods people find that will help me. I
like learning about healthy choices to be made at the grocery store, eating
out and over the holidays. I like the new beginning I feel every week when I
have a bad week. At home on my own the days and weeks all run together and I
don't feel that new beginning every week like I do on the day I attend a
meeting. I like meeting new people and seeing their struggles are the same
as mine. I like knowing that my leader also struggles and backslides just
like me. I like being able to have a place to ask questions about certain
foods or choices. Alone I have none of this. I honestly don't know how
people do it alone, or with the online program.
Hope this helps.

Geee.. if the leader is that bad maybe you should speak up?

Why should you join?...I'm guessing as with most of us that nothing "has
worked" so far...WW is no miracle...No simple cure but if your ready they
offer a terrific set of tools...Why skimp on your goal...The value of
meetings is different for each of us...Meeting and sharing with others like
ourselves also is of great value in my opinion...It works if you do...Good
luck in your journey...GG

I need my meetings, its odd as I am generally not a joiner and basically
prefer not to do group things, its both the support and the accountability I
think, try going to a couple of meetings and different leaders to see if its
right for you, Lee
