Hi, I have been a Weight Watcher member for 2 yrs now and happy to say that
I have so far lost 114.4 pounds (gotta get that .4 in there)haha, and my
husband is a lifetime member with a loss of 88 lbs.  Monday before our
meeting which is in the early evening, I got an E-mail from our Weight
Watcher Leader saying she was fired.  She told me that her "Flip Chart" was
confusing and that her HEARING was a problem, that's right her HEARING.  I
couldn't believe what I read.  I was really devastated and could not wait to
go to our meeting to let her members (whom she loves) know what had
happened.  All she said to me was PLEASE let them know that she did not quit
on them and that she will miss us very much.  Weight Watchers don't like it
when others discriminate against the overweight but I guess it's OK to
discriminate the hearing impaired.  Her boss (Cindy Dyer) told her that her
flip chart was not only confusing but was told to stop using it and that her
hearing didn't help matters...She was told there was a mystery shopper at
last weeks meeting and when she asked her a question she didn't hear her so
didn't answer, DUH, he or she could of raised their hand and asked again.
Our leader whose name is Judy worked at the meeting in Henderson, Nevada at
the Horizon Village Square.  When I joined and as everyone else after me
were told by her (Judy) that she was hearing impaired.  All of her members
knew that and never had a problem with it.  They knew she had a problem when
they hired her but now I guess it does matter.
The flip chart was GREAT so I think they just used that for an excuse.  I
looked forward to going to Judy's meetings every Monday and when I opened
the door to enter last night I just got emotional and told the members there
that she was fired!  I just had to vent and get it out and believe me they
have not heard the end of it.  We plan to do whatever it takes to get her
back.  Have a wonderful week my fellow weight watchers and like our sweet
Judy would say "what wonderful LOSERS we are", haha.

I understand that you are sad to see your leader go... but

1- I'm extreemely surprised to know that a TM would say that her hearing
didn't help. Even if it was the only reason she was fired for, the TM would
NEVER say.. if only to avoid lawsuits...

2- It takes an aweful lot to fire a leader. I've seen things that you
wouldn't believe go unpunished.. so I REALLY don't think that a leader would
be fired over confusing flip chart..

You've got only one side of the story... and believe me, at Weight Watchers,
there's a LOT going on behind the scene.. I'm sorry you lost your leader, my
leader got fired too (I know why now and she deserved it), so I know what
you're going through....

Believe me though, before a leader is fired... there has to be a long long
long looooooooooooong history of problems..

My leader was fired this summer. Almost all of the people that I know from
my meating have quit.  I know I have and I'm *SO* much better off for it.
I have been able to drop weight w/o them.  You can too.

My experience was not as dramatic, but when my leader "left" about 3 years
ago, we got a replacement "robot" lady that couldn't smile to save her life,
or encourage people at all. That meeting ended just 2 weeks later when no
one came anymore.

Now I have a new leader and she's great!

Once I went on vacation to visit my family..

When I cam back, my meeting had gone from 29 members to 3... the replacement
leader was there for 2 weeks..

Lets just say I didn't get that one to fill again..
