UK MEMBERS - RECIPE INGREDIENT QUESTION

I thought about asking this on the WW message boards but since most
people there are in the US didn't think much would come of it.
I decided to check out the international sites & went to UK. At first glance
it's the same but when you start looking around.....
I was looking at some recipes (WW & message board ones) & have a
question about an ingredient - what in the world is Tate & Lyle Golden
Syrup?
Is it corn syrup? It's not maple because it mentions that can be used, I
wouldn't
think it would be honey or molasses. It's a oatmeal recipe that just looks
good
to me, once I figure out the measurements & what the syrup is (or it's
equivalent)
I'd like to give it a try.
I was a bit confused about a few other things though while reading recipes
I realized jelly is jello, frylight is something like pam, etc.
Tomorrow I'll have to check out some of the other English speaking sites,
though it's interesting to look at some non English speaking sites & try to
figure out what they mean.
It's also interesting to click the products links & see what's available in
other
areas. For example, Germany has weight watchers meats like salami &
bratwurst,
couldn't figure out what the other packages said though I think leverwurst
might be liverwurst.
Thanks

Cane sugar syrup: all Tate & Lyle products are cane sugar based.

Molasses is black, like treacle: Golden Syrup is a mnice pale gold.
Different stages in the process, if you like...

Liver sausage, literally.  A sausage served sliced like ham or salami
rather than a pate.

I'm wondering if a local grocery store might have the syrup. They have
a small section of foods from the UK. If not, I'll see what else might work.
The other items are what I thought they were. Now to figure out the
measurement
conversion. I think it's in a cookbook I have, if not, I'm sure I'll find it
online.
Thanks

I stopped at the store this morning after meeting & took a quick look, they
carry it though I didn't buy it today.  They carry a few other items I'd
like to try & some I have had in the past. Would have looked closer if I'd
had the time.Thanks
