So... how is it going?
How's your activity routine holding up? Mine went down the drain. Today is
day 1 of getting my behind in gear, busting up excuses and DOING IT.
Sooo I'll be lifting weights today, and either walking, swimming or skating,
depending on what's going on.
Tomorrow morning, early I'll be in the pool.
I plan on swimming or walking fast every day. The choice will depend on
schedule and weather. I do need to get some sunshine, so we'll see. I am
commiting for AT LEAST 30 minutes of moderate activity/day. That's a
minimum.
How's the food going?
Again, I've slacked... I know, lame.. you'd think I'd be like 10 lbs up by
now.. nope... 0.6 up. Which means that I'm not doing as bad as I think, and
that I caught myself in time. Offfaaaahhhh..
I'm getting my gear in Flex, or whatever you call it at this point, keeping
in mind all the wonderful things I've learned from doing Core.
I've got some chicken marinating for dinner, shrimps for lunch, both in
Tandori marinade I bought last week...it's gonna be GOOD...
So my plan for today is to go shopping for veggies, and get myself ready to
hit the ground running. I want to do good this week cause I have a visitor
(my big brother, I'm so excited!!!) next weekend who's here for 10 days, so
I want my routine to be "in" before he gets here.
So that's my plan, I want to keep things going, but keep them simple. No
great master plan for every seconds of the rest of my life, just step by
step following my chosen plan.
What's up with you?
How's activity going? How do you plan to make it better?
How's food going? What can you do to make it better?
Will~

I'd just got the swimming up to 3 sessions a week, a mile persession,
when BLAM! Killer Head Cold strikes me flat! BLEARGH... Not swum
since a week past Friday.
> How's the food going?
Well, the PLANNRD food is doing fine! All the MEALS are OK... 100% WW
recipes, all fresh ingredients, etc....

I'm still a good few pounds up on where I want to be. Last time I
weighed, I put on a pound but lost and inch round me tum! There's no
justice...

Stop eating half a loaf of bread each day ON TOP of my meals... I had
the wrong end of the month (water retention plus bad munchies) followed
by the hellish cold, so all I've done for a fortnight is loll about
stuffing on bread! :(
HOWEVER, I discovered a carrot and butternut squash mine, so despite the
evil weather (rain hammering down so hard it bounces up again! Porch
roof leaking... ), I should be able to imbibe some zero point soups and
veg. I plan to hold until my meeting on Thursday and then get back with
a vengance as soon as I'm fit to hit the pool.

Go Kate Go!!
I love "Wrong time of the month" sounds much better than all the American
name for it! LOL
You'll get it down! I'm trying to hide from all the flus going around.. it's
insane. I'm a substitute teacher, so every school I go to there's like 4
different flus going around! ARG
I need to make Veg soup. I've been meaning to for like 1 month!
Today I'm making it!

I'm NOT as resillient as I was when I was teaching full time, but a year
or so on supply (subbing, like you), and I was almost indestructable! :D
> I need to make Veg soup. I've been meaning to for like 1 month!
Carrot mine slightly depleted. Carrot & Coreander soup forseveral days...
> Today I'm making it!
I found both carrots AND the energy to chop them! :D

>What's up with you?
I started on this road in June and have lost 15#. However, I've been
at the same weight for 6 weeks. I analyzed what I was doing before
and realized I had stopped writing down my food intake. I'll restart
that.
>How's activity going? How do you plan to make it better?
Bought a bike in September. At first I could barely make it for 1/2 a
mile. Today I road 3-1/2 miles for the first time. Not bad for a 79
year old guy.
Good luck with your restart Miss Willow.

That always makes a difference. I too will be going back to writing it
all down...

Way hay! I maintain that being able to swim a UK mile (or 1600 metres)
in slightly under an hour ain't bad for a 52 YO with RSI in both
shoulders and fibromyalgia everywhere else!

Hey Willow,
I haven't been here in a year or more. You're still here lamenting, as you
were last year, about not having lost the weight you hoped you'd lose. In
fact, you've gained a bit. Then your post goes on, as before, to talk about
food, Food, FOOD. Nothing has changed in the past year??!! Your life is
still focused on FOOD?
Haven't you come to realize yet that you're still a slave to your obsession
with food? And that obsession is keeping you overweight?
"How's the food going?" Do you have any idea how pathetic that is?
Can't you find the strength to control what you think about? Are you that
weak? You must always remember that all the weight you carry around you,
first went into your mouth and YOU put it there! Your weakness is
shortening your lifespan!
Learn to think about food as sustenance, not as something you crave.
Replace your food obsession with something - ANYTHING! Do you have a hobby?
Take control of your actions. This newsgroup can't do it for you. You'll
be happier and live longer, and you'll finally be able to stop using this
newsgroup as a crutch.

> Hey Willow,
Drivel snipped.
Good grief! What a miserable and unhelpful post. If it was THAT easy,
we'd all be eight stone, in a size 12 dress, and bouncing with energy.
It isn't, which is why we need support groups. We can vent when things
go wrong, congratulate when they go right, swap tips for food and
exercise management, keep up the flow of new food ideas, nutritional
advice, and recipe ideas, and generally help each other with encouragement.
If sour little homilies like this worked, you wouldn't be here as this
group would not need to exist. If all you can do is pick on Willow for
not fitting your idea of perfect, bugger off back under your bridge for
another year.

Why so emotional Willow?
I guess I misunderstood when you wrote "... 0.6 up. Which means that I'm not
doing as bad as I think, and that I caught myself in time."
I gathered from that that you're not really in control of your weight.
It's to your credit that you're "still maintaining the loss" with that
constant preoccupatiopn you have with food.

Yeah, I agree, a gain of 0.6 lbs really is a sign that I have no control
over myself.
Gaining 0.6 after 5 years of maintenance is such a failure...
I don't know, it must be that hummus I had 3 months ago that comes back to
haunt me..
LOL

Well done!
And welcome back. It's been a bit thin for good company here over the
summer and the back end of last year.
