As of this morning, I've lost about 9 pounds total, and today for the
very first time saw my first goal weight on the scale. (My weight tends
to bounce up and down a little before it settles but is keeping a
downward trend. I've taken to only writing the lower weights I attain
in Fitday...if I can get to a certain weight one day, I'll eventually
settle there and, I hope, my weight will head further down from there.)
I'm losing at a very slow rate -- around .5 to .65 a week -- it's very
unlike my previous weight loss. Then again, I'm not putting in the same
level of effort. But at least my weight is steadily going the right
direction. I comfort myself by realizing that even if I were to lose
only 1 pound per month (and that's not what's happening), I'd be 12
pounds down in a year, which would be an improvement. This time around,
I'm trying to look it this 5 pounds at a time...I don't know how far
I'll be able to take it, but each 5 pounds is an improvement. I know a
good weight for me is 125...30 pounds from here. I'm not really even
spending much time contemplating my lowest weight, which was 106. I
don't know where I'll end up, but I'm 9 pounds closer to it.
So...I'm going to Cabo in Baja, Mexico, in mid-December, just
pre-Christmas. It would be nice to be (at least) another 5 pounds down.
That's my next goal.

Congratulations! Slow and steady is probably the best way to lose weight.
Enjoy the upcoming trip - it sounds wonderful.

Thanks so much, Beverly. I really appreciate the support. I'm very
psyched about the trip...*and* the weight finally starting to come
down. :)

Thanks, janice! I really appreciate the support. It's been a while
since I "saw" you...how are you doing?
Today, by the way, the scale read the very same thing. Usually, it
bounces back up a little and back before it settles at a number (and
then continues to go down). So I'm happy about that.
