Well, I'm back in my normal routine for a couple of days -- until I
leave on Monday to go down to my mom's.  Today I went to the gym for
lifting & yoga, then ran a few errands.  I've been pretty lazy most of
the rest of the day, catching up with TV, mail, laundry, etc.  (I have
whole new dimensions to being lazy, as we've put in a wireless network
so I can sit and watch TV while web surfing :-) .)

Food:

* 8:15 (home): 2 poached eggs on 1 slice whole wheat toast w/ 3 slices
melted f/f cheese & 10g grated grana padano
* 12:30 (driving from gym to grocery): energy bar
* 2:15 (home): 4 oz. ground turkey breast burger on whole wheat
hamburger bun w/ 3 slices f/f cheese, dill pickle slices, & catsup
* 7:30 (home): sandwich w/ 1 large slice whole grain bread, 73g roast
beef, 18g provolone cheese {This is half of a sandwich I ordered on
the road earlier in the week -- brought it home in our cooler.}; 2
medjool dates
* 11:00 (home -- planned): 250g f/f Greek yogurt w/ 100g strawberries

Totals: 1338 calories, 32g fat (21%), 123g carbs (37%), 141g protein
(42%)

Exercise:

10:00 -- Lower body: Walking lunges w/ bar on back; step-ups;
stiff-legged deadlifts; leg extensions; leg curls; seated calf raises;
hip abductor; hip adductor

11:00 -- 75 minute vinyasa yoga class

You rock.  I love checking in to scan your daily habits -- including while
you were on vacation.  You're sensible and healthy, and it's no wonder
you're successful.  It's a great little reality check for me to read your
posts.

I'm on track, slowly but surely.  I don't weigh myself, so I can't post a
weight comparison, but my face looks thinner, my thighs and butt are
thinner, some clothes are fitting better. My daily routine is looking a lot
like yours, except I had an awful period this week, and that always throws
me off my exercise.  Fortunately, I'm perimenopausal so the periods are
fewer overall; unfortunately, they're usually worse and are more
unpredictable.  This too shall pass.  The main thing is to stay motivated
despite these periodic discouragements, and to get back on track and stay
there after every sickly spell.

Thanks.  I'm never quite sure what people will think when I admit to
eating all those desserts and big breakfasts and stuff.  But that's
the reality of my life, and I don't think I could maintain a lifestyle
that didn't allow for some such deviations.  So I just let it all hang
out there for you guys to see :-).  I do think, for me, it has to be
more about being pretty good than being perfect.  I'm not really
trying to set myself up as any kind of role model for others -- just
keeps me honest with myself to post.

I think slow is just fine.  It's the direction of the curve, not the
slope, that counts :-).

I've been menopausal for about 7 or 8 years now.  And boy, do I not
miss it!  I always had bad cramps, and they worsened during
perimenopause.  But then they stopped.  I see very little downside to
menopause, personally :-).
