It's That Time of the Year Again

God willing, I'll be  entering either year eight of keeping off the
weight or containing it within a "two pound box." When fall falls, and
outdoor exercise time shortens I notice I hover at the top of the two
pound limit (I weigh evry day) and it's time to plug the leaky rowboat
before it and I become the Titanic. The problem is I test and post
recipes for a gastric diet being followed by people who are mostly
underweight, wheras I used to clock in at 219.
I dialogue with these people all day, every day.

It's time to return to my roots, to ASD the place I can always get
motivation to think "smart weight management" again. Out of the drawer
come tried and true mantras from the past like increase the volume of
vegetables and fruits, use less dietary fat but keep some in, stay out
of the kitchen between meals, easy oon the beef meals and cheese and
don't bake any more Peanut Butter brownies until 2007.

Even though the old old forty year plus, old Weight Watchers' diet is
obsolete, what we did then worked; the fish meals. the "free foods."
the limits on foods too high in sugar and fat.

I'm punching in at Fitday and as always at the beginning, recording
evry miniscule bite (that will last for maybe three days LOL)

:o)

I'm in that place myself right now... need to step back, take a breath, and
be "a member" again, rather than a "leader"... I'm talking Weight Watchers
of course.. that's what I do, but I imagine that it's true for any program.
Or methods...

One morning, DH asked if we were "getting back on track" and I'm like "you
know, I work for WW all day, the last thing I wanna do is to do it at
home..." Mister man gives me a weird look, goes "Ok" and lets it drop...

The following morning I'm totally devastated "I'm up 3 freaking lbs!"

Well DUH... that was 3 weeks ago..

3 month tracker is out, all neat and ready for another week. With meals
planned for everyday, shopping list made, "second choices" noted..
My list of "oh sh... I don't have time to cook" foods is renewed....

I re-built my workouts, from the ground up pretty much, am skating every
week.. Walking when it's not raining...

I'm a member again, I take time for ME again... and I'm having a blast ! I
think it's the key really... investing ourselves in what we do... make it
something that matters, not something that we're "forced to do"!

Good to see you posting again.

I'm in a similar situation.   The bike rides are limited by the weather and
I just can't get into a regular schedule of indoor exercise so I've seen a
small increase in weight.  Getting back into using Fitday is an excellent
idea and one I should follow.
