I was exercising at Curves yesterday (as I do every time my daughters are at
karate). One of the women had just become a grandmother, and, as with women
everywhere, stories of labor and child birth were being shared. One of the
ladies was talking about her friend, who had birthed an 11 pound baby. She
said "She's 5ft5inches and average weight--just like you." I had to look
twice just to make sure she was really talking to me!! Wow!! That made my
day! (And I went around the circuit an extra time, just to celebrate!) =c)

Cool! It really feels good to be seen as normal weight, doesn't it?

It is, but it can be confusing. Two people this weekend assumed I was
at goal. Hello. I'm at least 60 pounds overweight, folks!
Then again, there were extenuating circumstances in one instance. It
was at the gym. We have some pretty hefty lifters there; one guy is
255, and I'd not call him fat. Also, I was wearing compression gear
under my workout clothes, and that tends to make me look a little more
solid.

Neil,
Remind me how tall you are? People don't believe I'm 15+ stone thinking
I weigh closer to 12 these days.

Six feet, one inch - sorry, I don't have the metric measure.

Yes, it really does. And it's a great motivator to keep on track through
the holidays!
