I'm trying to lose weight and its a hard process. But,I think that if
we were all more satisfied with our bodies, our self-esteem would be
way higher.

I read a quote on a website that pops the nail on the head
"Other times the media blames the media, and then attempts to correct
their previous brain washing by telling us that we should be
comfortable in whatever skin we are in. What's more like us than to
blame the others of us for forcing us to be incapable of taking care
of ourselves? Better yet, what's more like us than to tell ourselves
that no matter how unhealthy our lifestyle may be, we should stop
worrying about it and love ourselves just the way we are? We tell
ourselves this, but let's face it, we don't believe it."

And I agree. Stop putting a bandage on the problem by justifying the
illness. Overweight is not healthly. Period.

We all need to move our bodies more, and feed our bodies better, for the
health aspect of it. And part of loving our body is taking care of it
properly. Of course our self esteem would be higher, if we did this. We
don't need to be a size 2, but we do need to be healthy.

Thats why its said to 'fix your head' as part of losing weight effort.
I have known people who lost a ton of weight and still had no self
esteem. They deemed themselves still not 'perfect' enough for whatever
their mind told them - thats one reason I think so many people yoyo
back and forth. They thought life would be perfect if only they could
acheieve a size whatever and when it all didnt fall into place as they
dreamed it would they get depressed and fall back to old habits.
