Went to my usual Saturday-morning hip-hop class and ran some errands
afterward.  In the evening we went to a wine tasting at an Italian
restaurant.

Food:

* 7:15 (home): instant oatmeal w/ flax seed & peanut butter
* 11:45 (running errands): apple
* 1:45 (home): turkey breast burger on whole wheat hamburger bun w/
f/f cheese slices, dill pickle slice, & catsup
* 7:45 (Italian restaurant): generous tasting pours of 7 different
wines; small sampling portions of six different dishes: Pecan-Crusted
Fried Mossarella with Roasted Red Pepper Sauce, Jumbo Lump Crabmeat
Cocktail on Endive with horseradish mayonnaise, Sea Scallop seared in
smoked paprika served on Chardonnay Risotto, Gorgonzola and Grape
Tart, Sliced Certified Angus flat Iron Steak with Green Peppercorn
Sauce, Cavatelli Pasta with Italian Sausage Ragu {Fancy stuff, but not
really an excessive amount of food.}

Exercise:  1 hour hip-hop cardio class

Sounds like a great level of calories and exercise.  You should lose
well at that rate!

There are a lot of calories in the chicken dish you had for dinner,
considering that 8 oz. of chicken breast is only around 300, and
peppers are negligible.  Rich sauce?  Anyway, your levels for the day
are fine.

The other items had the servings and cals on them, but I had to use a
nutrition website to get the chicken info. They didn't have oz for chicken
so I guestimated high that 8 oz of chicken was 2 cups chopped. The sauce was
only around 10 cals per tablespoon, I used four to cook with but likely only
ate 1-2 tblsp. The peppers I figure was about 75 cals. I may be closer to
around 1500 for the day based on your suggestion. I'd hate to go below 1500
for health reasons.  :(

Thanks for the input.

A good place to look for calorie data is calorieking.com.  Look for
the Food Search box in the middle of the home page.  When you get to
the page for the item, you can select the type of units (cups, ozs,
actual chicken breasts, etc.) using a little pull-down menu, and it
automatically recomputes all the numbers.  You can also put in how
many cups, ozs, or whatever you had and it multiplies it out.

On the calorieking site, it has 8 oz. of raw chicken breast at 250
calories, and 8 oz. of roast chicken breast at 375 calories.  I'm not
sure whether you weighed yours before or after cooking.  (The
difference is because the chicken loses a lot of its water content
when you cook it, so it takes well over 8 oz. of raw chicken to end up
with 8 oz. of cooked chicken.)

Anyway, eating under your target calorie level for one day won't hurt
you.  Going too low on a regular basis, though, can cause problems.

Erm - is it me, or does there seem to be a general lack of Fruit 'n veg
here?

In the UK we are told to have five portions of fruit or veg a day.

In many countries in Europe - they recommend up to ten portions a day.

Maybe those "Weight Watchers Ice creams" (which, being branded are made
purely for the good of Weight Watchers - not you) could be replaced with
some real food?

Just a thought...

I take daily vitamin supplements with lycopene and fish oil (not a fish
fan). Not to mention my yogurt contained fruit, my soup contained vegetables
and my dinner consisted of more vegetables than chicken.

I think allowing myself one or two of those a week is just fine.
